Re: CRAZY idea

An AI program needs files to draw it's information from. That isn't only the rules, maps and units, but also a lot of gameplay. We all know that certain attacks you can affort to take the risk and other you don't with the same odds. Now, if it would be possible for the program to send those games on ...

Re: DOW Surprise effects Question with non-neutrals

Mostly a rules question - Italy is at war with France. CW DOWs Italy performs Naval moves to hunt IT ships and CPs at sea. in one instance IT NAV air is allowed to intercept moving CW ships, it appears it is allowed as there is a French SUB in the zone? Per RAW is the Interception really allowed ...

Re: Can't restore (solo) game

I don't see anything wrong with this game....

What you can try is to unzip the file you put in here and see if the game proceeds correctly.

There's only one rule when reloading games. That is that the version you are using has to be at least the version in which the game was saved.

Re: Empires in Flames (4-player game)

In regards to the AAR's unless you have a specific audience I won't need detailed details on every land or naval move if you want to save some time. Anything out of the ordinary that might be missed like an isolated unit moving or a TF sent somewhere obscure is all I really need to know and ...

Re: Assorted Questions

I agree with Angeldust on the forts. When playing on the board, we made a house rule that a player needs to announce where he is building fortifications the moment he spends build points for them (and not put a fort somewhere half a year later in front of the enemy).

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

The game does not allow you to change this option while playing NetPlay, so I changed to H2H and edited these options in the Shore Bombardment Phase. Then changed to NP and they were ok, but when the CAP phase arrived,it seems that they were wrong again. Will confirm in the next days in following ...

Note: Japan will not ever save oil in Mukden, unless some very specific, weird, circumstances. That is a truly annoying bug.
Aware of this bug which can hang around until Japan DOW NEI. Only needs an exchange of saves and magically Mukden becomes the destination of choice!

Re: Questions About the Game From Potential Newcomer

How to learn this monster?

First: watch the tutorials video's.
Second: start a Barbarossa scenario and ask lots and lots of questions in the forums. You see: there are no foolish questions, only foolish answers. 8-)
Third: use a basic game without a lot of optional rules to get a feeling of how ...

Re: New to the game - Basic Questions

Seems to me the design is such that the length to trace is artificially limited to some finite distance so the program doesn't take a lloooonnnnggg time to do end of turn re-org. We humans "see" the map differently than the program does (at least this program).

Unfortunately if you use the option ...

Actually I meant the very lengthy entry under "What's New in v07.00.00.00?"

But anyway, you are free to believe whatever you like. Patience is the practice of waiting with calm endurance, while hope is the expectation of a future good, and those are admirable qualities.

True, so true. But: I'm ...

4% that you would miss everything. Not as low as I thought it would before I calculated. And, to make you feel better, you had a higher change of missing everything that rolling a 2 or 3 (3% total) on a 2D10. :D

Thank you. :)

Axis Observations of Allied Setups (Censored).

(1) I spent my hobby time yesterday and today (so far) examining in detail my allied opponent (ssiviour) setups.
(2) I've documented my findings in rev12 of my AAR excel spreadsheet.
(3) Unlike my other on-going AAR, which is solo, I wouldn't be ...

RAW

Each hex defends against an invasion with a notional land unit, in addition to any actual land unit in the hex. The notional unit is the same nationality as any major power or minor country with a real unit in the hex (owner’s choice if more than one). If there are no real units, it is the ...

The yellow bar with the numbers were added to be able to log calculation times. When the game first was released, calculation times were too long. After this was fixed, they never have been removed. You can ignore them.

Re: Current State Playability?

Solitair and netplay are pretty good. However, I would advise you to make gamesaves after each naval battle (before going to the next sea area) because you don't want to redo things if the game bugs there (not that it happens often, but it's a lot of work to redo things).
One advise I will give you ...

Re: Vichy France & Bordeaux Enclave

There is an optional rule, which I think should be coded for MWIF, even though it is considered to be very pro-Axis. That's the optional rule: no ZOC on the surprise impulse. If that comes in play, you can move into Rotterdam with Germany anyhow.

From an historically point of view, this optional ...
