Re: Range of units

Heads up- be attentive with the German mixed artillery- the map will tell you are in range, but the 10.5 cm (range 10) may be out of range while the other guns are in. Applies to armored artillery (Wepse and Hummel have different ranges) as well as the couple mixed nebelwerfer units...

I cast my ballot enthusiastically for Market Garden! Really lends itself to smaller scenarios/operations and the campaign would be a blast.

Re: How Best to Use German Truck Card?

I've been using it to carry the leg battalion of FBB- they have enough trucks to carry the remainder of another FBB battalion to give it 100% transport chance. Links the units- but they are going to the same place anyway...

RE: 21 inch MK14 torpedo

It feels pretty cool to get the "PB obliterated by torpedo" or somesuch...but I would love for the hits on BB, CA, and CVE to bear fruit. Deadly exploding fruit

21 inch MK14 torpedo

<t> Ok, noob back again with a question...<br/>
<br/>
After Jan 1 1943 my torpedoes are supposed to have their dud rate reduced by 20% (to 60% if I read the editor correctly)-do I need to access a port in order to get that? 25 torpedoes in, and of the hits only 5 have gone off. That is what I ...

<t> Thanks for all the feedback guys!<br/>
My cousin and I are playing Scenario 2, normal Dec 7 start, PDU on and Realistic R&D off-maximum chances to screw things up! He's got 3 games going as Japan (he's semi retired) one of which is against me, my first game. We're old time board gamers, and ...

RE: Advice!

This isn't a major base-I'm just starting to claw myself into an offensive posture. I'm not really as worried about CD as I am a TF interdicting the landing...

And thanks for the thoughts-chime in with whatever you got folks [:)]

Peptalk!

In other news, I am (overdue) to start a PBEM as the Japanese player-but I am terribly intimidated at the prospect. I've checked out many of the excellent AAR's for inspiration, but need that extra boost/kick in the pants to take the plunge...

Any words of wisdom?

Advice!

So I'm going to be amphibiously landing in the face of air and naval resistance (Iknow, I know...)-I think I have two choices and would like some input...

Am I better off putting the combat ships in a Surface Combat TF, or leave them embedded with the transports?

Pathetic cry for help (Don don't read)

<t> Looking for help as Japan-Scenario 2, latest patch, historical 1st turn. I'm a really new player, with an Allied game into August 1942, and we are also playing a match with me as japan. Its Dec 11 and I'm ready to throw in the towel. If anyone has some AAR's to recommend (I have seen them but ...

Withdraw/Return mechanics question

<t> Happy 4th of July!<br/>
<br/>
I'm an AFB player in Scenario 2. I see I have many air groups that withdraw, then return later-sometimes quite soon after...many of these groups are in a 'restricted yet buyable' state. My question then-<br/>
<br/>
If I spend the PP to get that group, will it ...

All things radar...

<t> Ok, so I think I understand radar in my base units-they pick up incoming air raids and assist CAP effectiveness, right?<br/>
<br/>
But as I look down my air reinforcement roster, I see some bombers -as well as fighters- will have radar on them...does that signify night capability?<br/>

The NavB for B17's was largely meant as self deprecation-though I am using them more in India/Burma than as Recon...<br/>
