RE: Infantry skin mod

The latest news on this is that there are summer skins added in a new, as of yet unreleased version of the mod. The screenshots show compatibility with the "Alpha Patch," as signallers with their wire spool packframes are shown.

RE: Alpha patch

What is "move it down in the list" ? Install Alpha, then re-install v5.81 over the top of Alpha Patch?

RE: Alpha patch

<t> One of the major plusses of Graviteam is that they consistently support the community. The patches might be difficult to install at times but they're generally worth doing so. Too many developers and publishing houses in recent days (years) have decided that patches and community support is not ...

It doesn't take me much time to respond to a PBEM. Fire a PM my way with your e-mail address and I'll send you a PBEM scenario in response.

RE: The Soviets

<t> Part of the Soviet CONOPS is that under ideal circumstances, Warsaw Pact forces would deploy faster and maintain this tempo at a rate that has them encountering NATO units on the move to their preplanned defensive positions. This will result in an encounter battle conducted at the operational ...

RE: The Soviets

<t> With regards to your comment on combat engineers: It seems to me that greater Soviet mass and their operational (rather than tactical) focus would allow the Soviets to exploit more routes than limited NATO engineering capability could block. Bridges would certainly go down, but that was one of ...

RE: The Americans and NATO

<t> "Doctrine" for Western militaries usually meant a 'tactical framework' which provided tools the commander would use as applicable. It shunts thinking along certain directions, for instance the mechanized infantry of various nations fought differently based on their nation's doctrine (conception ...

The Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) had an enormous impact on Soviet military thought. Their operational planning for fighting against NATO, as far as we know it and has been declassified for public use ...

<r> Factors are as described (obviously... voice of God there <E>:P</E>): reading your AARs, you seem to lose a lot of HQ units. That will impact you negatively. The Soviets also take longer to compose and transmit orders, which I feel is realistic given their microscopic staff sizes and directive ...

RE: The T-80

<t> Put bluntly: This is the scenario that NATO armour is designed for and had been designed for since the 1960s. Precision guns, strong frontal armour and excellent optics/sensor fits are all designed to allow first hit capability at maximum battle ranges (ground permitting) and begin the attriting ...

RE: Dropbox?

<t> It does not appear to be possible - the game saves directly to the Save Games folder. If you have your saved game files distinctly labelled, you could use a dropbox program to specify the FP:G saved games folder as the dropbox, and it would then be possible for however many people on the network ...

Crash Report

Situation: I selected a PBEM to respond to, but then realized I'd selected the wrong one. At the dialogue menu inviting me to enter player PBEM password, I hit cancel. This caused a crash to desktop with no error report.
