Re: it could be better

I vote for them quashing any remaining major bugs, and then add the bells and whistles.

I do like the idea about highlighting HQ's and I'd like to add if it's possible to make the bottom window collapsible or if not collapsible then maybe make it smaller. It takes up a lot of screen area and it ...

Re: "Read access violation" during first turn resolution scenario 1 main campaign

I deleted the game and the folder it was in, and then re-installed it. I don't have that save anymore, but I am working on getting it to happen again.

Re: "Read access violation" during first turn resolution scenario 1 main campaign

I'm guessing that you never got an answer to your question? I'm having the same issue. If there is a fix out there, or the bug is being worked on that'd be nice to know. Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Individual aircraft settings

Take a look at page 38 in the manual. That page I believe is what your looking for.

Forgot one thing. To change the aircraft's bomb load you need to go thru the model's loadouts which is bringing up the unit info on that squadron or plane type. I normally use the CR to modify loadouts. Saves a lot ...

RE: axis air questions

<t> A couple of weeks ago I ran a test on port bombing. I was using axis air to bomb a little port on the Sea of Azov. It took me on average 5 turns to put that port out of commission. Also remember that FOW distorts what your seeing, but you'll know when the port is destroyed by the map mouse over ...

RE: Substitution editing in the editor?

I'm not completely familiar with all of the editor yet, so as to your question, I'm not sure how it would be done. Someone smarter than me will have to answer.[8D]

RE: Substitution editing in the editor?

<r> There's not much info about the editor in the manual and Joel has mentioned that Pavel is working on the editor. Not sure when he will be done, but the editor will have some improvements.<br/>

RE: Substitution editing in the editor?

<r> Across the top of the editor (exit the editor map) there are several tabs. The tab listed as "Units" should show all the unit info you can edit. On the left hand panel you can assign types of equipment and edit other unit values. The first column labeled "WID" you click on this and it brings up ...

RE: Organizing the Luftwaffe

<t> Just to add one thing. Use your lower level air HQ's to separate planes. I put Tac bombers and a AOG of fighters in a lower level hq, and take another AOG of fighters (if you have them) and your level bombers in another HQ or they can just stay with the main hq. The tac and level bombers use ...

RE: Axis bias mod.K

<t> In the manual on page 151, section 10.2.7 shows the detection levels and what information you get from each level. You can check your recon levels with shift-T. If your not getting to those levels you can make smaller groups and increase your #of strikes per day. When I do recon, I do set the ...

RE: Is this game good anymore?

That I'm not sure of, but I'd say no for multiplayer (I haven't played a multiplayer game in awhile). I'm not sure how that would work if one player changed all his opponents options without them knowing it or how it might skew the match.

You can change your game settings during the course of a scenario on the Admin Panel. I use it frequently when I'm testing something.[8D]

RE: Bombing Sebastapol port

I have the latest patch, and flak losses were light since I was playing a scenario and not a GC or StB. I have noticed that the larger your bombing formations, the more flak losses you get, and I was bombing from 23000ft to avoid the lighter flak.

RE: Bombing Sebastapol port

<t> I had to test this out. I thought at first carlkay58 might be mistaken, but it turned out that I learned something new. Naval is the way to go. It took me 5 turns with 200+ bombers to actually put a level 1 port into isolation. I couldn't find anything about a fully damaged port in the manual. I ...

RE: Corp HQ out of command

<r> I checked this on the Soviet side. I changed the HQ of the unit in the pic to Western Front, which was 60 hexes away and the border of the Army was blue. Of course the range on Soviet Fronts and Axis Army's after 41 (I'm well into summer of 43) is 45 hexes, and I would not ever have a HQ that ...

Didn't intend the double post.
