I re-downloaded, then installed with net and anti-virus shutdown.

It seems to have been a combination of bad files and the Windows text setting.

At 100% it's really hard for me to see things, so I tried increasing to 125% and things are still OK; I ...

Then you should update directX or better to patch it, because you already have DirectX 12, but that file is missing.

Nikel, I've tried the auto run and the exe app. Auto play gets me to the splash screen where I can click on the game to play (register, forums, etc.), but it doesn't do anything else from there, just makes strange noises. Trying the exe brings up code execution can't proceed as ...
