Seeking Japanese Partner for Scenario 2

<t> Against a medium-strong allied opponent.<br/>
<br/>
Playing the Japanese side alone is a little too much for me at this time. I've played one played one PBEM CG through April 42 only, so I have some experience though not a lot. <br/>

And a very important related question. How exactly do we tell which pilots in one of the navy reserve pools are actually carrier trained and which are not? I just don't see where this ...

A squadron will indicate that is it is "Carrier Capable" or "Carrier Trained". Capable means the aircraft have tail hooks and are designed to land on carriers while the pilots are not trained on carriers. The latter is what you ideally want ...

RE: Longtime lurker with Noob Questions

I've never had trouble loading aircraft onto xAKs using a regular transport TF. Have you tried that instead of an aircraft transport mission?

I believe that the components also need to me at the same location within the hex as well. In other words one of the sub units cannot have moved, say, 15 miles towards another hex while the others have not.

RE: Search Arcs

<t> To summarize:<br/>
<br/>
As I understand it, since we are running Beta 1108r9, the search arcs are working as designed. The reason my Nells attacked the harbor defense TF outside its search arc and the search arcs of all other air groups instead of a spotted TF inside its search arc is that ...

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll probably continue to use search arcs though not as much as I have done so far, and see if I can discern how effective they are.

Yes, I have put a percentage of the Sqd on search and the rest on naval attack. It would be pointless to put the rest of the Sqd on rest as the whole reason for the search is to get the planes to attack targets they find within that search arc.<br/>

Search Arcs

<t> In my PBEM game I have been spending a good bit of time setting up my search arcs, but I am now wondering if that is simply a waste of time. The reason that I raise this question is that on several occasions my planes have made pointless attacks against a port that contains numerous HDML, PT ...

RE: Unloading fuel problem + One other

Thanks guys - I guess I'll try the refuel at sea option.

The transports were not unloading small amounts of fuel as there fuel capacity is topped off at the end of each turn.

RE: Unloading fuel problem + One other

<t> A related question.<br/>
<br/>
I've got a couple of ships stranded at a small port without fuel. I hand anticipated the problem and sent transports with enough fuel to get these ships to a larger port, but the transports are also carrying lots of supply, which is being unloaded up to the cargo ...

Thank you very much for these remarks, Alfred. I was pretty sure my thinking was muddled, but I have a little confidence that it is less so now.

OK thanks Mynok.

If this simple approach does not work very well, at least I will know that I am not the only player suffering. I hope I can get someone to comment on training carrier pilots. I haven't managed to dig up anything on that topic.
