RE: Conflict of Heroes 1.38 Now Available!

Does this fix the crashes in some of the Storms of Steel scenarios ?

RE: Something annoying about supply from ports

<t> How about when you are in a 100% port (or maybe even adjacent to it) it will always pull supply from that port ?<br/>
<br/>
I was able to assault up near Livorno this time. I think maybe it could have been weather that stopped it last time. Ended with a minor victory again as allies. Nearest ...

Something annoying about supply from ports

<t> If you have a large port like Naples and stand just beside a smaller port even quite far away from Naples, both at 100%, the game will still pull combat supply from Naples. It should take from the closest port which is at 100% IMO.<br/>

Also, is there a limit to how far north one can do ...

RE: 1.01 almost ready to go

<r> Looking forwards to the patch. I have both an allied and axis campaign going, and so far I find the AI on both sided to be doing a good job. The axis doesn't really have a lot to work with early on I found out quickly, and I managed to lose 3 units to the allied AI after ~30 turns. I think I ...

RE: DC3 Blog post

<t> I do quite like the DC games, but there are a couple of issues that put me off which I hope are addressed in the next one:<br/>
- The UI is sluggish and inefficient. <br/>
- The AI is fairly weak unless you let it cheat.<br/>
- Air power is much too weak, and also should be able to do several ...

RE: Tiller Panzer Battles

<t> I've played with it for a few days now. The game plays quite similar to squad battles imo. I feel they should have used this opportunity to make some significant improvements. The UI is still really inefficient, and makes you do a lot more work than necessary even for basic operations. It could ...

Integer wrap around bug on cancel fortifications

If you have 0 fortifications bought this turn and buy 1 you can continue to press cancel after the amount has been reduced to 0, causing a wrap around bug on the value. It might be the same for the sea & air transport but I haven't tested.

RE: Hmm...

I think the air priority is something you can use to give more air support to some units. I expect it just weights the priority settings for each unit in combat and spreads the aircraft accordingly.

You can cycle through a stack by right clicking after selecting it.

RE: Some tips after the first Italy campaign

<t> The cost of buying goes up over time, but you pay when you buy. I don't think there's a cost to using them, at least I haven't noticed any. <br/>

RE: Some tips after the first Italy campaign

<t> The game runs fine. The UI is on the whole ok, and the map is very functional and looks good. Some things like figuring out which beach is where in the port interface could be improved by moving the map to it when you click on ports and beaches f.ex. Same with reinforcements. <br/>

Some tips after the first Italy campaign

<t> Just sharing what I've learned out so far as allies. <br/>
<br/>
- Don't bother walking from Messina, just get enough sea transport to take Taranto, and a port on the west coast.<br/>
- Don't walk reinforcements from Messina, it quickly get's cheaper and faster to use sea transport.<br ...

RE: A couple of questions

<t> If I understand correctly, ports only affect the cost of combat supply and movement based on the supply % shown in the map overlay ? The total amount of supplies per turn is determined in the scenario with some random variation as indicated in the manual ? <br/>

RE: A couple of questions

<t> After playing through the historic campaign (got a minor victory as allies in the end after supplies dropping to ~25% for most of the rest of the game), it seems that having supply near the front is more important than overall port capacity since there is a cost increase based on distance. I ...

RE: A couple of questions

I'm aware supply spreads from ports. What I meant was does the amount of combat supply and fuel you get per turn depend on port supply (edit:capacity), and if so how is that calculated.

A couple of questions

Does the current port capacity affect supply for the allies, and if so, how ?

Does commandos have any special rules ?

RE: A couple of suggestions

<t> I agree on the AI. I think it does ok for the most part, but it seems to move around a bit too much, abandoning important cities (Rome, Anzio), and leaving weak units on the front lines by themselves which I can easily assault and break through. <br/>

RE: Tiller Panzer Battles

The best JT series so far doesn't carry much weight with me as far as UI and mechanics go. I will try it out, but I'm full expecting the same masochistic UI and indestructible guns crewed by supermen who eat high explosives for breakfast.
