Re: Palembang Fortress handicap

Thanks! That's a great idea!

We also plan to send land forces to Palembang relatively quickly. Initially these would presumably be largely from Malaya/Singapore. We are aware that the British would probably not immediately abandon this area, and there were Dutch-British political considerations ...

Palembang Fortress handicap

My brother and I are not quite newbies, but not too far from it. We are also old, senile and stupid. We intend to play as Allies against the Japanese (AI) and have decided to establish the Palembang Fortress as part of our strategy. We are aware of the historic flaws in doing this and want to self ...

Re: Scorched Earth

Thanks! Having played about 12 months of PBEM WITPAE games, I am constantly learning new things about this great game. I know there's a lot not addressed by the manual. I have no doubt you are correct about this. It makes perfect sense. But does it appear in the manual?

Scorched Earth

I am a relatively new payer to WITPAE. Would it have been more realistic to provide a scorched earth feature to the game? For example, as an Allied commander I would have preferred to have destroyed the refineries and/or oil supplies at Palembang and Balikpapan than to allow them to fall into ...

RE: Win10 upgrade issue

<t> I have a relatively new HP laptop with Windows 10. I have the WITPA 1.01.24 update installed. I have two problems: <br/>
<br/>
(1) Both the command and map/gameplay area scroll speed proceeds at a snail's pace. They are so slow to respond that initially I thought they were not working at all ...

WITPA & Windows 8

<t> A friend of mine bought WITPA and was never able to install it on his new PC that uses a Windows 8 OS. Fortunately for him he was able to install it on an old PC he still owned. Now I have a second friend who wants to buy WITPA and he, too, has a PC that uses Windows 8. But he does not have the ...

RE: Co-commander possibility in a PBEM game?

<t> Thanks, witpqs. That's what the Japanese player and I suspect. We would have thought so long as Allied #2 had the password that he could at least have opened and viewed the same game file that I could view in my capacity as Allied #1. After mutually agreeing upon decisions, only I would execute ...

RE: Co-commander possibility in a PBEM game?

<t> Thanks for the prompt response. That certainly makes sense. <br/>
<br/>
The three of us are newbies. We're 5 days/gameturns into the war and are trying to determine if the problem is some sort of technical mistake by Allied player #2, or not. At this early stage in the game he and I really don ...

RE: Co-commander possibility in a PBEM game?

<t> We're attempting a 2 humans (Allies) against 1 human (Japanese), also. But we cannot get the second Allied player in the game. Does he have to join in the first game turn, or can he enter on a later game turn so long as he has the Allied password?<br/>

To date the Japanese player has ...

Co-commander possibility in a PBEM game?

<t> Three players in diverse physical locations desire to play a WITPA PBEM game with two players co-commanding the Allies and one player commanding the Japanese. The two Allied players are named Georgia and Nevada, the Japanese player is Florida. Georgia and Nevada have the capability of ...
