RE: CMO freezes, crashes, or displays a red X on map display

I will add that the game will not let me run cmo from the exe direct, it says steam client not detected and goes back to desktop. Running Windows 8 i cant update the netframework enough for the launcher to function currently.

RE: NTC Training

AB is quite unique in it's scale and execution. Generally this is a little on the large side of what I like to play, but the controls work well, and that allows me to spend more time planning and observing the battlefield. Really enjoying this one.

RE: Congratulations!!!!!!!!

<r> I played around with the freeware version a few years ago, and had watched a few streams of this game as release neared. Well, it's release day, and my pay day, and CMSF2 still isn't out, so guess who picked up a copy of Armored Brigade?!? I think it'll be great fun, and am really looking ...

RE: So which FFG(X) finalist design do you like the most?

<t> I am hoping BIW gets it, if for no other reason then they'll be hiring and I live next door. It's the best choice also IMO, well armed and fits nicely with the existing fleet setup. If anything it might be a touch too much ship for the frigate task, but rather have it and not need it then need ...

RE: DDG 1000 Zumwalt – 2025 Hypervelocity Projectiles?

<t> It remains to be seen exactly how capable the Zumwalt and those weapons will be, but that is likely pretty close against an enemy with purchased Russian/Chinese kit. Against a peer adversary the electronic warfare variables will likely alter the balance a bit, but weapons today are extremely ...

RE: Recon mission planning

Unless the recon asset has radar of some sort, or the mission is in/near enemy airspace, I tend to run the flight manually. With an asset that has SLAR or something to that effect I use a support mission.

RE: Runway Damage Threshold

I find attacking runways is a futile enterprise. Runway access points are the major bottlenecks. They take much less to put out of action then runways do. But like runways it will not be permanent, they will repair with time.

RE: Effective use of F-35A/B/C?

<t> I can say that my time in Command (since 2013) has pretty well sold me on the F-35. It's like having a stealth mini-AWAC that can be a shooter as well and a sensor. Some of the features you mention are somewhat abstracted as far as guiding weapons from other platforms. You can certainly use the ...

I used the stylized for a bit, but the NTDS are much more intuitive for me. Guess my brain is just wired for them now, lol.

RE: Are Russian air to air missiles R-27 and R-73 really this bad? (Iron Hand feedback)

<t> The R-27R and ER are indeed SARH missiles and need to be illuminated all the way to target. There is an IR and extended range IR version of the R-27, and those are of course fire and forget but difficult to get good data to launch them on at times. The Russians main active radar guided missile ...

RE: Learned an Important Lesson Today Regarding Nuclear Weapons Use

<t> I am pretty sure I have deployed nuclear weapons fewer then ten times in something close to 4 yrs with Command. It's almost always been nuclear depth charges, a couple times it's been with ALCMs. I don't really like too, I think the concept of the moral implications of using nuclear weapons ...

RE: Sultan of Socotra (experimental scenario) 0.16

Wow! Absolutely brilliant! I had never in a million years thought of approaching the sim in this way, and I really love the concept. LoL, with a three month or more timeline, this would almost qualify as a stand alone game separate from CMANO.

RE: Completed Canarys Cage

<t> I think in the doctrine tab for a unit/group/side, you can order them to maintain EMCOM even when under attack. I think it's 'ignore EMCON when attacked' (yes/no) Many of those doctrine choices can have a serious impact on how the AI will use the units/groups that you assign to a mission. They ...

I am also from the Bath, Maine area and couldn't agree more about the comparison. There is a Flight IIA Restart also docked at the ship yard, and seeing both ships in the water you could really tell how much larger the Zumwalt is.
