RE: new scenario pack: China vs. US/Japan

<t> The distance is a problem for the US-Japan side. I did make two changes:<br/>
1 - The tanker at Guam are set to ready<br/>
2 - F-2 at Tsuiki are armed with ASM<br/>
<br/>
The result is a minor victory but with huge cost to both sides. PLA DDG screen suffer heavy lost but my LRASM cannot get ...

Unit destroyed by

Is it possible to find out the side that destroyed an unit in Lua functions? Currently, the Command trigger get fired when an unit is damaged or destroyed but I cannot find a way to tell which side destroy or damage the unit. Is there a way?

RE: Airbase runway damage and operation question

Not sure about B-52 but fighter planes planes are taking off with burning 99% damaged runways. Those planes must be piloted by clones from Anakin Skywalker; able to dodge craters and fires. Nothing can stop from reaching the sky.

Airbase runway damage and operation question

I am running a test to crate runway and notice that no matter how much damage is done on the runway, planes can still takeoff from it. Is there a way to limit the air-ops when the runway is damage beyond say, 75%?

RE: Stickied thread for minor database issues?

This should be an easy fix. Taiwan's SkyBow III (SAM) #888. Its minimal target altitude is 100000ft-80000ft. That is way too high. Attached is the screenshot of the DB entry. DB version is DB3000 v491

Battle Royale - Mediterranean cruise

<t> Battle Royale is a completely hypothetical scenario. This is a five way battle with each side having a 50 percent chance to be hostile with each other. However, it is possible to achieve the goal without getting hostile with any parties. Pay attention to the contact log in the first few seconds ...

Sky Bow III does not fire

Just notice Taiwan's Sky Bow III does not fire due to very high minimum engagement altitude (100000 ft ASL).

Attached are save file and screen capture.

RE: Re: Naval and Defence News

<t> Regarding the will to fight from the mainland China side, my sense while most tend to prefer to have peaceful resolution. The hostile stance from the current Taiwan govt and its support of Hong Kong "revolution" in 2019 had definitely turned their opinion around. Now, most people have given up ...

RE: Re: Naval and Defence News

<t> Hi BeirutDude,<br/>
<br/>
Always enjoy your scenario. About Taiwan, I have relatives on both sides of the Taiwan strait. A big question about Taiwan is the will to fight. This applies to both sides of the strait. My feeling is that on Taiwan's side, very few are willing to fight. Very few ...

RE: PLA(AF)/PLA(N)(AF) air testing of the ROC ADIZ

That is speculation, not solid evidence. In theory, they could convert older planes like J-6 to UAV. However if I were them, why spending efforts to convert those questionable airworthy craft when plenty of better UAV options are available.

RE: PLA(AF)/PLA(N)(AF) air testing of the ROC ADIZ

<t> Those J-6 are no longer air-worthy. Some people claim they can be converted to drone. Maybe but there is no evidence of it. None. Nada<br/>
<br/>
J-7 were used to fly along more modern crafts in one of the flight to Taiwan's SouthWest AIDZ. But J-7 is being phased out in PLAAF. Existing J-7 ...

RE: Scenario for PT: "To Kill the Queen, 2022"

<t> Thanks for the mod. I played the PRC last night and managed to score 4 hits with ASBM in the first strike. As a result, the subsequent airstrike was carried out without much aerial opposition except a few Hornets launched before the ASBM strike. Majority of H-6 loss was due to its missiles need ...

RE: Something different - be my OPFOR

2030 is a bit too far down the road. 2023-2026 would be more realistic.

Another issue is what is the objective of the OPFOR? Control Malacca strait? Achieve air and sea control? What sort of force composition do you expect?
