thanks though i went and downloading that and it appears i already have it installed because the only setup options are for me to either repair or uninstall it

if i switched to windowed and with video acceleration the game throws up a Directsound Failed message when a scenario starts and crashes - why would directsound have anythng to do with the screen resolution?

thanks for your reply - i have tried Dgvoodoo, but for some reason i cannot figure out, the game just wont pick it up - i use Dgvoodoo often for old games and usually it works great, but this pacific theater title so far seems resistant to any kind of wrappers
