Mortalen never, or at least very seldom perform well as an AI empire. As you said, playing Mortalen with military dictatorship or feudalism is generally a bad experience. I've run them as republic, and then they perform better, but as you said is a bit out of character.

[humor] Colonizer leechers

During my current game one of my automated fleets cleared a well guarded neboulousa system. I checked the combat and found that there were colonizers from 5 different factions bouncing in and back out (retreating due to enemies). When I defeated the enemies they raced to colonize.

In my last game I played the AI starting burning all my money after winning the pirates over. The game started autobuilding ships like mad to fill up fleets getting all the separate pirate ships.It was nearly impossible to build any high cost facilities as the game never saved enough money to do it ...

When I started playing I changed some hotkeys to my liking. I don't do that anymore, because they get reset all the time.

Since you not provide any metric or data or specs your post literally says nothing.
If you would add system specs, game size, game stage (mid-late-ect) with some CPU use numbers/screen you would add some meaning to your statement.

I recently upgraded my 7 year old CPU and got a modern CPU with much higher performance and a lot more cores (got new motherboard, RAM etc of course). When at war with the AI, the AI often sends colonization ships to do annoynance outposts and colonies far inside your territory.

The UI is poor at telling me when these are incoming so I can stop them. I've managed to stop it sometimes, but mostly due to luck as it is hard taking notice of an enemy ...

@Buio - I noticed you uploaded the save through our issue report system. I'm unable to reproduce admirals returning to a fleet with only troop transports. I see them assigned to 2 of your strongest fleets, while your generals are with the fleet with troop transports.

Do you have other examples of ...

I'm playing 1.2.9.2 as Mortalen in my current game. No special settings or mods.

My best mortalen admiral insisted moving several times to an troop transport fleet with almost no fleet power. I moved him manually to a fleet with high fleet power, but he went back several more times to the troop ...
