Missiles with stupidly high BVR capability post patch

I have made multiple threads on how the new (and supposedly realistic) missile dynamics have introduced a plethora of problems to the game. Dont really want to repeat my previous arguments here as I seem to be the minority with regards to this matter. What I would like to share with you however is a...

[Fail Safe #1] Maybe switch AI ROE from tight to FREE?

So, I have just completed the first mission. The biggest problem for me was that the AI did not really fire back (bombed the crap out of the Soviet fleet without taking a single rocket or shot). Checked the scenario editor and came to the conclusion that due to the limitation of cold war equipment, ...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

I have 516 hrs clocked into the game but am still more or less clueless as how the supply system actually works.

Could someone give me a step-by-step instruction on how to stockpile freight in a rear area depot?

Thanks!

Re: 1944 campaign against the SOV AI - recommended settings?

You could try it on Challenging. The AI is not great at attacking, it is probably going to give you opportunities to cut off spearheads and not push hard enough when it should. My suggestion would be to play the late scenarios from the Soviet side rather than Axis. Thank you for your reply. The rea...

1944 campaign against the SOV AI - recommended settings?

Contemplating on playing a 1944 GC as Germany. I have few questions for my fellow WitE players: - what is the general view of this campaign? Is it worth playing? Does it give an enjoyable experience? - if so, what are the recommended settings for the AI? I am a semi-experienced player and usually pl...

How to set up an effective AAW patrol mission?

So far I havent really used mission and tended to micro my air-to-air engagements. I have recently started to replay the Northern Inferno campaign and due to the technical limitations of the weapon systems present in the timer period (1975), I decided to try out the mission system. And oh my God wha...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

Should I just accept that the benefit that army level HQs would provide will therefore be nonexistent and just roll with the fact or should I select weaker/less important cores and skip a level and attach them to an army group. This way at least my most important corps/units can benefit from a prop...

Re: Quick Questions Thread

If you dont have enough HQs as the axis to stay within the command limit with all of your forces (like in the Stalingrad to Berling Campaign), what is the best way to deal with the situation? The most problematic are the Army HQs. There are just arent enough of them and many HQs are dealing with 2x ...

Re: Axis HQ problems in the 1942 S. to B. campaign

The StB campaign effectively portrays the Germans as overstretched, especially in terms of command structure, where many HQs are burdened with more troops than they can efficiently manage. However, as a strategy game, it offers you the freedom to make strategic choices. It’s unwise to assign poor l...

Axis HQ problems in the 1942 S. to B. campaign

I have started to play the Stalingrad to Berlin campaign (no early end) against a challanging Soviet AI and after familiriazing myself with the situation I have come to conclusion that the axis forces are sorely lacking higher level HQ units. 1. Army group HQs At the start, all of the AG HQs are hea...

Re: Refueling - aka why does the mountain go to Muhammad..?

For aircraft on a mission, there is a checkbox labeled Tanker follows receiver's flightplan in the Tanker Planner that is checked by default. Unchecking this should cause the tankers to stay on their own flight track. Thank you for the reply but I think we are talking about two different subjects. ...

Refueling - aka why does the mountain go to Muhammad..?

Using the latest .15 build. If I recall correctly, in previous versions refueling was conducted in a way that aircraft needing fuel headed to the tankers while the tankers stayed put. Now it seems that if I select refuel, the game creates a waypoint for the tanker which starts to slowly lumber towar...

Re: Detailed description of equipment properties?

I just did a search on each of those four properties in the manual and it gave a fairly good description. Wiki give s lot more detail, but it seems like the manual gets to the point. Thanks for the answer the wood! I have also checked the manual and I think there are tons of capabilities/functions ...

Detailed description of equipment properties?

Is there some explanation on what in-game effects the various properties of certain equipment have? Like theres this AEW aircraft with the PS-890 radar that has the following capabilities: https://i.ibb.co/dMd8T1H/equipment.jpg I am anything but a military expert thus have zero idea what each of tho...

How to get units to use their cannons in strike missions?

I am trying to set up a land strike mission for some Apache helicopters. I designate the targets, assign the planes but after the helicopters have spent their hellfire missiles they do nothing, despite the fact that they could still engage the targets with their cannons.

Re: New Scen for Testing - 2029.4 - SCS Island Seizure

Very tempting scenario!

My only concern is that weapon WRA is blanket set to NEZ.

What is everyone's experience, how does the game play out with such a setting?

Understanding and managing depots - i give up..

This goddamned depot system. So I thought that I had the whole concept nailed down. Freight flows from lower priority depots to higher ones. Thus one should just set front line depots to 4, and assign progressively lower numbers to anythign behind those. I have been conducting my game (GER vs a chal...
