RE: Rear area security and Soviet airborne

<r> The Soviets also used airborne dropped reconnaissance teams extensively throughout the war to observe and report German operational/strategic defenses. Glantz covers this in <I><s></s>Soviet Military Intelligence in War<e></e></I>. In the chapter on reconnaissance prior to the Vistula ...

Is it static? It won't break if it is.

It's not static, and has full MPs.

Hmmmmm, does not always seem to work. go back to editor and back to map and try again.<br/>
Remember, not all unit types may be broken down and you can't break them down if any other unit is on the same hex.

On-map I assume using the build/breakup button (or b key).
I've been trying that and it hasn't been working.

RE: Ukraine '43 - New User Scenario

Excellent scenario, thank you very much for making it! One inconsistency is that 6th Guards Army withdrew from the fighting in mid September to refit in STAVKA reserve, but doesn't in your scenario. I forget the exact date.

Troubling Downloading 1.06.27

Whenever I try to download the latest version the installer freezes up and crashes. The game is working fine other than that.

RE: Winterized Divisions

<t> As the logistic system broke down in late 1941, especially with the last major pushes on Tikhvin, Moscow, and Rostov, German commanders tended to prioritize shipments of ammo and equipment over winter clothes and equipment/vehicle replacements that would work in winter weather. There simply wasn ...

RE: New normal .13+

<t> I think the problem here is that the unrealistic Soviet blizzard offensive is a response to an incredibly unrealistic Axis advance in 1941. In the game it's suicide for a Soviet player to fight forward against a reasonably skilled Axis player; it just leads to more encirclements for next to no ...

RE: Cheese anyone?

<t> Here are some thoughts I had in regards to improving deception operations and recon:<br/>
<br/>
Have four types of recon available; radio intercept, passive, reconnaissance in force, and air recon.<br/>
<br/>
1. Passive recon occurs during the logistics phase, and involves units that are in ...

1944-45 Axis AAR

<t> So for my first multiplayer game I decided I'd try the 1944-45 campaign as the Axis. Probably a mistake, but the scenario felt most comfortable to me for some reason. I only need to think about strategy a year ahead, and I know Soviet objectives fairly well from what I've read about the 1944 ...
