RE: The Ensigns who command ships

These are RN ships so I should be more worried if they were captained by a certain Sub Lt. Phillips, letting him on Troutbridge was dangerous enough

You can still thrill to the adventures of the HMS Troutbridge on BBC Radio 5 Extra online.

RE: The Ensigns who command ships

<t> In my 2 full campaign games of WITP:Accountant's Edition (subtitled Spreadsheets over the Pacific), the Leander has been the Boise of the war through 1945/1943. I just looked at whose commanding it in my current game, yup, an Ensign. It's got a Hunter/Killer anti-shipping group centered around ...

But I am considering "Whoopass" just because it's different. [:D]
That would need to be a DE or DD so it could be one of the last tin cans of 'Whoopass'...

I have some of the Minnesota-specific fish in my named subs. USS Crappie is a fave. (You have to be from here to pronounce it correctly.)

RE: New Ships with Old Names

<t> I follow the naming traditions of WWII largely. <br/>
1. CAs are named after state capitals or very large cities (CA Dover, CA Des Moines, CA Tallahassee, etc.)<br/>
2. CLs are named after smaller cities who have a big impact on the war (CL Quad Cities, CL Beaumont, CL Coeur d'Alene, etc.).<br ...

RE: How do I upgrade Minors' Air Frames to modern types?

<t> I have the Dutch units training in Aden (when there are no planes but still squadrons) and flying Search or ASW patrols in areas where there is limited possibility of sub attack (like Western coast of India and around Calcutta). I've got 1 Dutch fighter squadron at Lashio as CAP for the ...

How do I upgrade Minors' Air Frames to modern types?

<t> I've got a Filipino squadron of P-26s that escaped the Philippines and several Dutch squadrons (Fighters, LBs, PBs) who have managed to escape the collapse of the ABDA. Unfortunately they are unable to upgrade to any new airframes. This would seem a bit odd, especially for the Dutch and Filipino ...

RE: Carrier Trained groups

<t> So here's a question I've been wondering. Do I have to have my carrier capable units onboard ship for 90 contiguous days or can I drop them on the ships intermittently (say during refits) and have them become carrier capable. I don't like the idea of flattops carrying useless airframes into ...
