Yup. As I previously stated, Shadows is bugged as hell.
At least they're still rolling out patchs. x.12 should be coming early October I think.

Set the stance correctly. It's in the lower left corner of the screen.
Set it on defend. And set set the defend range as low as possible.

What you are saying really doesn't make sense. You were probably making loads of cash from trading the loros fruit, and when you ran out, you stopped making cash.
Look at your expenses also and see what is eating up your revenue.
