Not in the few fights I watched. The shield was still very nearly full when it retreated. <br/>
I'm afraid I don't have the logs handy, started a new game. May have to go reload to explore further ...

Seems you can also 'Disband' to send units back to the SHQ, then build a new formation using those units. Kinda costly in IP, I think.

Sure, they aren't impenetrable. My point is they can raid far from your logistics network since they don't need logi.

Luck hands me some AI Walkers from time to time.
They don't seem to care about logistics and can wander (slowly) all over the map.

Speed up the evil disposal method by assigning the OHC a perk with a big defense penalty. Seems to get my leaders killed pretty quick anyhow.
