I think the upgrade path is this case only represents a random point on the timeline, when u can get closer an average historically state which was calculated based on both ship continously changing armament. Or what.

It was mainly a supply convoy to SW pacific. But same time I tried to move my brand new and combat ready BB and some repaired CLs to the same area together.
Was a short trip.
