Re: Carried Over Supply

You mean like he made it possible for 150mm+ artillery in non artillery units capable of reducing fortifications?

Have no idea what you are talking about. Just trying to provide a solution.

Neither do I. But, when the Supply Module (next) is completed, we will have discrete supply ...

I hope you're right. It would be a shame to see all of that time you spent going for naught.

In other words Eric's reply is: See Steel TIgers. Same verbage. That one has been on the back burner for such a long time the fire has gone out, the gas line has been disconnected and the house it was in has been torn down.

I cannot stress this enough. Save your turn often. Nothing is more depressing than to spend two hours on a turn and have the game crash. It is NOT crash proof.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Seems to me these special units should be able to ignore zones of control while exerting none of their own.

Re: Matrix games failing to reduce the cost of a 21 year old game

Why is Matrix games still selling Decisive Battles of WWII: Battles in Normandy for £30.99?
The game is over 21 years old! Unbelievable!

Awards. I guess it was and is just that good. Not bothered with it myself. Price. But it does go on sale from time to time. Xmas is coming up. ;)

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

I've canceled Legacy Bug #30. The issue was that my test scenario for mud placement in Annual Turns ended after only two turns. I thought there was some bug in the game that was causing that. However, I found that the real issue was that I hadn't provided any Supply Points for the test scenario ...

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Now for the Player Option to limit HQ and Artillery disengagement ability. My theory is that such units should be able to escape engagement themselves (they are in the rear and, in a real-time world, would escape any breakthroughs) but could not be used to "rescue" front-line defenders.

I've ...

Re: Campaign Barbarossa v1.032 download patched, tips

If you want to keep your moving units from undergoing interdiction strikes keep them out of airfields and off of roads and rail in urban areas if possible. Moving through an airfield is the most likely tile type to be interdicted. Next is urban. So don't let the game make movement decisions for you.

Re: Combat intuition in TOAW IV: How do you, veterans, do it?

Yup, and the Axis was supported by 18 artillery batteries, battalions and regiments. ;)
I suppose the Axis failed some kind of check in that battle. And they were massed so heavy casualties. Probably should have rethought that attack.

And then there are the crazy results where a regiment is defeated by a company. Rare but it happens. That's the random factor that's thrown in that makes you throw your mouse across the room.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Because it's reached the end of the function and there isn't an instruction to tell it where to go? I don't know. I don't have the code. I can only guess.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

OK, I'm going to have to punt on Legacy Bug #16. When I try to trace it out of a function I get "No Symbols Loaded" message shown. (Can't trace out of a function).

And I can't find what calls the function with the "find all references" tool. It's hidden somewhere.

So stepping through it ...

HQ strings have a proper description in the OOB.
Fixed Soviet 152mm Howitzers. Thought I already had cuz it's okay in the game I'm currently playing. :(
Thanks for pointing that out.

Re: Carried Over Supply

A Theater Option can be used to temporally increase theater supply for the desired number of turns. That’s the shotgun approach, but it would work.

A preferred method might be to use Theater Options to create temporary supply points in the areas where offensives are expected. Such as: Theater ...

Artillery has an advantage when firing over escarpment hexsides. It doesn't work both ways.
