Re: True Foot Infantry

Sort of boils down to assigning "movement factors".

A different issue, but of the same flavor, involves assignment of armed transport equipment (halftrack etc).

I think it was you who pointed out each piece of transport equipment can carry two pieces of transportable equipment.

But what if one ...

Re: Mini Map

If all I'm doing is scrolling the main map I simply click on the unit that's in the main area of focus and I'm back there. If you've clicked on a new unit where you've scrolled to then you'll have to use the jump map to take you back. What puzzles me is using the jump map takes the mini map to the ...

Mini Map

It's too bad we can't make the mini map scroll at the same time as the main map scrolls. Better yet, turn that ability on and off at will. The mini map will jump around the same as the jump map but won't scroll with the main map. Or even make the mini map center on the selected unit.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Time over target is very short for aircraft. I don't think the deduction should be different than the one for AS (Escort or CAP). Whatever that is should be about right. I'll have to check that, though.

One aircraft over a Combat Air Support target isn't a practical example. It would be several ...

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Easy to see why Steve thought there was a problem.

Losses weren't the point, I said in my report that the MiG-29 unit suffered losses. The issue was that there was no indication that any of all of the AAA units had fired. Having them included in the Combat Report would help with that, but ...

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

One thing this game has never modeled is operational losses.
I tested this once, by moving units and monitoring losses to vehicles, which does happen. So if that's what you are talking about, it does occur [but these losses do go to the replacement que if the losing unit is in supply]. I don't ...

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Pestilence covers everything. Not a good substitute. Unless you modify it so you can have different pestilence for different unit types.

True Foot Infantry

I wonder if it wouldn't be better to give static equipment organic transport by making it slow motorized and uncheck the static flag. Then eliminate the supply train in the TOE. That will make foot units truely foot units. Because that supply train increases the movement allowance of the foot ...

Oh, I see. As in a unit that was divided and it's now being reformed. I was thinking of it as a separate unit in a formation.

Re: Hierarchy Module Document

Why does a unit have to be in the exact same place as the superior unit it's going to become part of? Divisions were attached to armies hundreds of miles away and then sent there.

Does Slitherine/Matrix have some kind of Amazon services? They cover a lot of areas and Amazon has run into a technical problem with their services across a broad spectrum.

Re: How old are the average Wargamers here?

76. Some friends and I made our own Napoleonic wargames in the late 50s. Poster board on corrugated cardboard. Punched holes in the map and toothpicks with hand drawn flags taped to them for game pieces. Lots of fun.

First store bought game was AH Blitzkrieg.

Played war in a friends field. Dug ...

You mean like he made it possible for 150mm+ artillery in non artillery units capable of reducing fortifications?

Have no idea what you are talking about. Just trying to provide a solution.

Neither do I. But, when the Supply Module (next) is completed, we will have discrete supply ...
