RE: AI on the horizon

<t> I wonder how many bug reports Steve gets are really due to the game code or due to someone's computer getting new hardware or a software update?<br/>
<br/>
Considering the hundreds or thousands of different hardware and software there are, the permutations must be in tens to hundreds of ...

RE: What are you giving for Christmas?

I'm giving my wife $5,000 to spend on clothing. The question is, will it be enough? [:D]

Also, a paid off mortgage, and the ability to retire when she wants too.

RE: Wargames we would pay to see!

I'd like to see GDW's Third World War - expanded to cover the whole world, naval units and rules, and expanded politics.

Well if he isn't, I certainly am! One day I hope to make it accross the pond to see my beloved Arsenal whoop the pants off of United, Chelsea, Liverpool, or any of the other lesser teams!

RE: Top 3 games based ONLY by how long you have actually played them

My 3 games would be:
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Gunship (for Amiga 500)
and a tie for 3rd between:
Railroad Tycoon and Strategic Command (any of them)

RE: Winter or summer (when is you most active with war games)?

I usually game in the winter. I'm too busy doing projects around my house, going places, etc during the summer. Also, I find it more difficult to think deeply (necessary for games, coding, etc) when it's too hot outside.

RE: What's in a name (or game description)

<t> I remember fondly when I first got Squad Leader. I found the pure infantry combat to be really fun. My interest waned considerably with afv and ordnance combat. They are a force multiplier, but certainly not necessary.<br/>

With this game, I see no reason why you couldn't make a map with ...

RE: HELP

Have someone else try the game. That way you'll know for certain if the problem is you, or a bug in the game, or even a problem with your computer. Also, if you can, try the game on a different computer.

May the Force be with you...[:D]

Request for map and scenario zip file

As per the subject, would it be possible to have a weekly zip file for the maps and one for the scenarios?
It would make downloading easier as well as keeping track of what a person might have already downloaded.

I'd pay good money for a global version of Third World War (with good politics) from GDW.

RE: The AI on the Attack (and food for thought for players too)

<t> Seeing how some wish for fire groups, I'll put my 2 cents in. One way to achieve this may be to say that - if all adjacent friendly units, fire at the same enemy unit during the same fire phase, all units after the first will get an increasingly larger bonus. There could be a limit to the bonus ...

RE: Feature Request

<t> I'd like to echo a previous request: the ability to name each unit. Being able to name the units would go a long way towards an accurate OoB. Also the ability to assign units to a particular leader would be nice. And to be able to click on a leader to see all the units assigned to it. That way ...
