RE: Having a very hard time of it as the Allies

<t> Thanks, it's probably wise for me to learn the smaller scenarios first. Just couldn't resist that big old campaign. Despite there being so much to learn, I really love the level of detail in these games. Armies and divisions with generic strength points etc in games just doesn't do it for me. It ...

RE: Having a very hard time of it as the Allies

<t> Yeah... I guess I shot myself in the foot automating it. I thought it'd be the best way to learn the game, just tackling the ground stuff first, which is what I know more about, but it seems I'm better off just working it all out myself. I'll wipe my saves, take a break, read the manual, and ...

Having a very hard time of it as the Allies

<t> Okay, so I've finally gotten near to finishing my campaign as the Allies (After numerous restarts), and I'm finding it bloody hard to actually get anywhere. I've been using the air director etc to manage my airforces, as I figure the AI would make better use of them until I understand the game ...

Front page promotional art

Anyone know who painted it? I like it a lot and want to check out more of their art.

RE: No blood patches...

<t> I've always felt that the blood puddles serve as a rather grim reminder of your failures on the battlefield, getting to see all those bloody corpses belonging to a squad you've shepherded safely through a campaign up until now, because you didn't suppress that MG42 properly. It's pretty in ...

Waterloo?

So I heard from somebody that the SoW team is doing a Waterloo game, but there's nothing on the Matrix front page about it. Is this true? I sincerely hope it is, as there aren't many tactical Napoleonic games about these days, let alone great ones. SoW engine would be an excellent fit.

RE: Is the game polished?

Yeah, the Major did the game. Not sure what happened to him as I don't really follow the wargaming scene that much save from a distance. Appreciate the extra feedback, BROJD. Will take a look at getting this at some point.

RE: Is the game polished?

Thanks, that's good to hear. I've been hoping for another good Cold War era wargame for a while now. TacOps4 has always been the gold standard for me, but it's getting on a bit in its years now, and it'd be nice to play as something other than US forces all the time.

Is the game polished?

<t> Hey guys, if you will permit me the cheek of asking such a question on the developer's forum, I'm just wondering how bug free you're finding it. Both the game and its time period are interesting to me, but I don't have much money to spend on games, so if I buy something, it's got to be fairly ...
