I disabled my Norton auto-protect, reloaded the saved game at end of turn 6, initiated end-of-turn sequence and it successfully processed the Japanese turn.

Back to the campaign . . .

Crash - Too Many HEAP Sections

This is the second time I got this crash and error message. Restarted game after first crash.

U.S. Marines Campaign, scenario 'Blissful and Goodtime', attempting to start turn 7 of 30. Played all previous scenarios with no issues.

I enjoy both but to answer your question based on your preferences I would suggest DC:B.

WITE requires a much larger investment of time to learn and play, since it also, normally, doesn't end in January 1942.

I'm getting the same error message as the OP and I'v owned the game for a couple years.
Stopped playing in September last year, just tried the shortcut and error message appears.

Note - I do not own the Steam version.

Game is terrific fun and agree with all positive comments. Certainly is a 'one more turn' kind of game!

I've played up through Java campaign as Rising Sun and it can be challenging.
The upcoming patch should do wonders for the Java scenario.
