Interesting. What about the 'metallic rumbling' or the sound that sounds like the hull is twisting? I often found some military fiction books has wrote how submarine make noises when diving very deep. Is it a myth, or still classified?

RE: Max depth of L.A. Class?

<t> Once at an event in the port of Santos, a brazilian skipper told me that his boat, a tiny Tupi-class submarine, can dive more than 300 meters. I do not doubt that. I presume a bigger Los Angeles-class boat can reach twice that mark, something like 500 meters, I imagine... The expensive Seawolf ...

Hi Gunner

I've played some episodes of this great series 'Northern Fury'. But I did not pay much attention to this particular scenario. I will certainly explore it. Thank you.

RE: New Scenario for Testing - Operation Ivy Bells, 1983

<t> Hello vettim. I totally agree that your scenario is quite difficult. But for me it was not impossible to complete because I know the particularities of submarines. I as usual try to finish three times each and every scenario that I experiment before opening it in mission editor to know how it ...

I consider it a shame that no one has commented on this great scenario. I always loved this kind of operations involving submarines (especially Ivy Bells). Your scenario is superb and I enjoy its difficulty. Congratulations.

<r> Hello Joe. Thanks for commenting on my scenario. The main objective of this scenario is only sink the Oil Tankers(they demand two or three Mk48s to be destroyed). If your submarine is detected, the ideal is to sink the two Koni frigates so that your final score can reach the maximum (Triumph ...

RE: Sweden hunting submarine

The situation involving the nosy soviet whiskey in 1981 is a very interesting theme for a scenario.

I have dozen ideas for submarine operations scenarios. I will study carefully this occasion and add it along my next projects.

Thanks for the photo and the link.

RE: Crimson Tide-like scenario?

<t> Crimson Tide is a good idea to a scenario. But it need a more adventure game related approach. Unfortunately, CMANO has no means to simulate the clash and the offenses between the two commanding officers and his crew, nor the crazy commander's dog urinating on the missile tubes.<br/>

It ...
