I did the same but otherwise
I create a ramdon German unit in KIel, I changed it till the required aircraft, then I put the replacements in it
Now I need to send it to Spain by boat....
Probably your method is faster ?

After working some turns (I'm currently end december 36) in my humble opinion the detailes logistic model doesn't work (at least for fuel) I've tried many solutions and nothing works
I request the devs to check the model again, there is no way to send the fuel from ports to units and many ...
