You don't need to mount the CFTs on a Strike Eagle. It's got fly-by-wire with F-110-GE-129 IPEs. More importantly is the addition of IRST, JHMCS and AESA radar to the aircraft. Those elements mixed with AIM-120C7s and AIM-9Xs makes it a very ...

I never said its a perfect plan. It beats setting up positions on the Russian border. I would have stretched out my forces between Lutsk and used Kiev as the corner lynchpin. I generally precluded the northwest as they would have to come in ...

RE: How to land troops from the air?

<t> The background to the scenario is that the meeting location is not yet known and the first half of the scenario has you tracking a convoy, hence no known insertion location.<br/>

RE: How to land troops from the air?

So if the scenario designer didn't set it up with an obvious event box there is no way to manually drop troops off?

I've re-read the scenario and side briefings and there is no mention of triggers or events, nor are there any pre-plotted reference points.

RE: How to land troops from the air?

<t> Sorry to bump this post, but how would you land the troops if you aren't in mission editing mode and are simply playing the scenario?<br/>

RE: Fixed Wing ASW - Utterly Confused

<t> I think that would probably be, if not the best, one of the possible solutions. At the moment I've got 4 unidentified contacts, 3 subs in mission (so at least one contact is biologic), and no good way to get my 6 aircraft to divide their labour rather than all hounding the first detected contact ...

RE: Fixed Wing ASW - Utterly Confused

<t> That explains it, sort of. The incident in question was when a dipping sonar on a Sea King picked up a single non moving contact. I'm pretty sure it's a fish but haven't confirmed, but either way, rather than have the Sea King continue to attempt to confirm the contact, I have all six aircraft ...

RE: Fixed Wing ASW - Utterly Confused

<t> Seems I spoke too soon, it seems my helicopters and my Nimrod all still charge headlong at the first fish contact. I've confirmed that the mission RoE, side doctrine and unit RoE have engage non-hostiles set to No and they still charge in. Is this the designed behaviour? <br/>

RE: Fixed Wing ASW - Utterly Confused

<r> Thanks for the help, I've just re-run the scenarios and I can see the default RoE setting for ASW missions is to engage non-hostiles, which explains the prolific fish-murdering.<br/>

[FIXED B537] Main Window Loosing Focus

<t> Hey,<br/>
<br/>
I've noticed an odd behaviour that I'm sure is a bug of some sort...<br/>
<br/>
The game keeps giving up focus on the main window when closing certain child windows. It seems to happen randomly but one sequence I can replicate right now is:<br/>

Fixed Wing ASW - Utterly Confused

<r> Hi Guys,<br/>
<br/>
Firstly, even as a definite non-naval grog, I'm loving this game. I'm so far out of my depth it's unreal, but loving it all the same [:D] And I'm reassured to see such active post-release development already <E>:)</E><br/>
