I want to play both sides, Japanese and American, Do I choose Head to Head?

I ask because I started a head to head game and it seems the computer took over the moves. This might be the Pearl Harbor surprise before I can make any moves? Any help is appreciated.

This game should be the future of land based combat. Real time movement, no hexes… you have to think on your feet and make quick decisions on your tactics.

Few realize what you actually see in a TOC. Maps don’t reflect tanks and people, it’s just symbols… which is very telling in a lot of ways.

I’ll also add that your Cav Scout recon element would typically spot enemy tanks, quickly and briefly engage, and then hastily retreat to allow MBT’s to engage. The recon element would then engage with ATGM’s if the unit was still viable.

My argument would be that organic infantry shouldn’t be there anyway unless they have ATGM capabilities. The Russians seemed to use their forward infantry in that capacity… organic infantry, or infantry armed with standard weapons, were typically with an armored vehicle or followed closely with its ...

Keep in mind that in the early 80’s the standard BDU was woodland camo. Not exactly the best in the desert.

I would agree with your logic though. I too have been to the NTC. There is plenty of cover, and many of the adjacent hills allow for both defilade and enfilading fire.

You also have to take into account that the early models of the M1 were ironing out the kinks. The M60A2 tank had a 152mm gun that never really worked well and my guess is that had some effect on crews locking horns with Soviet tanks.

I’ve given some thought on my post. I believe Armored Brigade would do itself a disservice by mirroring Command.

Realistically the scope is just too big, and after spending a few hours on some of the scenarios, I’ve realized being too big would diminish the tactical efficiency and game play.
