RE: The Four Horsemen and Satellite Intel

I would have anticipated the ship positions would become more precise as multiple satellites passed over, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The Four Horsemen and Satellite Intel

<t> Hi everyone,<br/>
<br/>
I feel like I must be missing something important regarding satellite intel and wondered if you had any advice. I'm trying to play through the Four Horsemen scenario. I'm having no luck at all figuring out where in the world the surface group is I'm trying to attack ...

RE: Advice on how to ID a sub

Thanks for the advice! I'm pretty amazed it's even possible (in real life). Must take a lot of painstaking listening to make it happen. I'll just keep tracking and listening and see if I can eventually get an ID.

RE: Advice on how to ID a sub

Yes. I've been mostly using sonobuoys but dipping sonar is available. Is that better for being able to get an ID?

Advice on how to ID a sub

<t> Does anyone have advice on how best to identify a submerged sub? I'm playing through Operation Brass Drum and detected a sub. I need to determine whether it's an Iranian diesel sub (in which case I'll fire on it) or a Russian sub (in which case I'll track it but try not to anger Mr. Putin). Any ...

RE: TLAM in command

<t> I've found that it's pretty easy to plot the course of the Tomahawk E (Blk IV) in the game. Launch a group, wait for them to all fire, and then select all, hit F3, and plot the new course. They remain controllable for quite some time. It's really useful to be able to route them around radar and ...

RE: Updated DB image & description packs are available!

Is it possible to get the files as a regular ZIP file rather than 7z? I'm just trying to minimize the amount of extra software on my machine, but if there's a reason that 7z is preferable I can download the extraction software.

Awesome work, thanks for all your hard work!

RE: Defeating SAM's with a longer reach

Cool. Nice to hear it actually can work in real life too. Although I would guess most pilots have a preference of not getting shot at in the first place.

RE: RUNNING POLL - gameplay features

<t> Absolutely loving the game. Never played Harpoon but did play Jane's Fleet Command way back when and was looking for something newer and better. This is way awesome. Definitely takes awhile to learn but I'm really enjoying it. <br/>

RE: Defeating SAM's with a longer reach

<t> Another gutsy option that has saved me a few times is to fly in high with sensors blaring just within range. Get them to fire off some shots at you and then turn 90 degrees (heading back out of range) and hit the burners. They'll take a much longer path getting to you and will be out of fuel by ...

Yep, that was the problem. I thought I had updated it but was mistaken. I'm running 1.03 now and it starts up just fine. Thanks for the help.

Crash with launch unless command.ini deleted first

<t> I'm having a strange problem I hoped someone might have some insight to. I'm new to Command and loving it, when I can get it to run, that is. I have the prerequisites installed correctly, and am updated to the latest build. Whenever I start the game the splash screen comes up and then hangs ...
