RE: Is the Chinese Civil War in the game or not?

I see. So it is playable, but not a fully finished scenario. Pity.

Thanks for the info.

Is the Chinese Civil War in the game or not?

<t> In the "Operational Art of War IV 5-6 PM CEST" video posted by Slitherine on 4th October 2017, the game is demonstrated using a "Chinese Civil War 1946-1950" scenario. However, I can't find that scenario in the PDF with the official scenario list. Can somebody please tell me if it is in the game ...

RE: "You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date [...]"

<t> Oh, I certainly understand the need to stop spammers. Although I am amazed that spammers would even try to post on a forum for grognard wargames. I mean, it is hardly a mass audience, is it?<br/>

Anyway, having posted in a couple of "What are you watching at the moment?" threads, I am ...

RE: Nostalgia

The first wargame I ever played was the old SSI Panzer General from 1994. It was that year or the following year when I played it, pretty soon after it came out.

Much more simplistic than the games that interest me today, but it got me into wargaming.

RE: Which operating system do you guys use?

For most tasks, I still use Windows 7. I sometimes use a virtual machine with a Ubuntu Linux system for certain scientific programs, and in many areas I find it a much more appealing OS than Windows. I plan on using a dual boot system in my next PC with the then-latest Windows and Ubuntu.

RE: What Book Are You Reading at the moment?

I plan on one day making it through Churchill's entire multi-volume history of the Second World War. An extremely biased account, obviously, which has to be read with a huge grain of salt. But one of the most important sources we have on the war from one of the key players.

RE: What program/film/documentary are you watching now?

<t> I'm finally watching the classic 1973/74 World War II documentary "The World at War" for the first time. Very Allied-centric, which is hardly surprising given that it is a British production, and I suppose a lot of the research is outdated. But it is definitely well made. And Laurence Oliver ...

Number 5...

Sorry about this. It's ironic, isn't it? They have this anti-spam measure, which gives false positives and thus forces people to post a couple of spammy messages to get to ten posts...

RE: Can the WITE/WITW game system be used in the Far East

<t> I would love to see a WITE/WITW expansion or mod set in the Far East.<br/>
<br/>
WITP:AE already depicts the naval war and the island hopping campaigns masterfully. But to my knowledge, there has never been a game that specifically modelled the land campaigns in China, neither by Grigsby nor ...

<t> Two questions if I may:<br/>
<br/>
1. The product info mentions "improved map projection that minimizes map distortion effects". Can you tell us which projection you used? From looking at the in-game minimap in the preview screens, I am not quite sure. Map projections are a hobby of mine, so I ...

RE: $99? Heck yeah!

<t> I never played the WiF board game, but I played World War II PBEMs that were very similar. I am very interested in MWiF and the multiplayer experience it promises. Having a group of 2 to 8 wargamers play out this massive global conflict, with the computer taking care of the number crunching, has ...
