CivFanatics does a similar sort of thing. They give specific settings for the "game of the month"(or week, I forget) and then people post to show what they did and compare scores and stuff.

That's why I listed out what I tend to do first. It's all purely in the interest of being as competitive as possible in the early stages of the game.

I actually emailed them using the contact form on the main site about doing some music for the game. JDM said he'd pass along my offer to the devs. The vanilla soundtrack is far too short for something that eats so much of our time ;)
