RE: WitE2 enjoyable for fans of HoI and Strategic Command?

<t> Thanks for the replies!<br/>
I got some 3,000 hours down in HoI4 and probably way more in HoI1 and HoI2 (third one sucked). I guess, I'm more of a "finish one playthrough in 2-3 sessions" kind of player.<br/>
Will probably stick with that level of complexity instead of trying WitE2. I'd ...

WitE2 enjoyable for fans of HoI and Strategic Command?

<t> Dear community members,<br/>
I've been playing turn-based hex war games since the 1980s, but the level of complexity I'm used to doesn't really exceed the beloved Strategic Command series (WiE, WaW, WW1...).<br/>
Almost bought GG WitE1 when it was on Steam sale weeks ago, but decided to wait ...

Just wrote the review on Steam awaiting publication<br/>

<br/>
Warplan is a turn-based WW2 hex strategy game. In other words, old-school strategy fun.<br/>
Growing up in the 1980s this is normal for me, but younger players who grew up ...

For those that don't know, for Matrix published games that are also available on Steam, you can purchase the game directly from Matrix to better support Matix and designers like Alvaro financially. You will still get a Steam code that can be ...

RE: Partisans???

<r> Partisans were annoying in Strategic Command, they were a whack-a-mole nightmare in Victoria...<br/>
I only like them in their abstract off-map representation in HoI4 La Resistance.<br/>
<br/>
Why don't you simply simulate partisans with a negative modifier to production? For example: -10 ...

RE: Wait

Oh, what the hell, I just bought the game via the Matrix store. When I saw Panzer Mike's map mod I couldn't control myself any longer.

Thought about starting a new Strategic Command game instead, but the one thing that always bothered me was the lack of fuel in those games.

RE: Wait

<t> Does it make any sense to price Warplan at 39,99€ in the official Matrix games store and at 33,99€ on Steam??<br/>
<br/>
I mean, Matrix makes more money if they sell it directly in their own store, yet they incentivice people to buy it on Steam. At the very least the price should be the same ...

RE: Steam release? How does Warplan compare to Strategic Command etc.?

<t> Thanks for your answers! I'll probably cave into my desire to play this game soon enough. Still hoping for some more reviews. Matrix doesn't seem to do a good marketing job to be honest.<br/>

Steam release? How does Warplan compare to Strategic Command etc.?

<t> I want to purchase Warplan, but the available information is sparse to say the least. Only found one review and a couple of let's play videos.<br/>

Since the price is rather steep, I don't want to buy it without being able to test it first. Steam purchases are risk-free cause you have 2 ...

Are there separate files though? I could simply delete the music files while keeping the sound effect files.

RE: Master strategy for easy victories

Well, turns out it's not that easy after all, thank god!
I finished the normal campaign with about 32% win ratio (mostly lvl.3-5 races). I lost quite a few races because I focused on killing rivals. A rather satisfying strategy I shall confess.

Master strategy for easy victories

<t> Bought the game today and I'm only 13 races deep into the normal campaign, so take this with a grain of salt.<br/>
I analyzed the stats to find the perfect strategy.<br/>
My idea: At race start get into 1st place ASAP by flogging the Bejeezus outta my horses, then stay on the most inner lane ...

Turning off music, not sound

<t> There seems to be only the option to adjust master volume, not sound effects and music separately. I browsed through the file structure and didn't find the music-files. I'd basically like to get rid of the background music while keeping the sound effects.<br/>
Does anyone know how that works ...

RE: Keyboard shortcuts?

I downloaded this Autohotkey programme. Don't really understand what to do though. I'd like to have the "control: ensure stability" command on my spacebar. I have no idea why the devs wouldn't implement keyboard shortcuts.

RE: Bought Qvadriga via Matrix Games. What about a Steam-key?

One more thing: I noticed the "please leave user reviews on Steam". Would love to do that. Those reviews suck. But if most of your loyal fanbase buys the game directly from you and don't get a Steam-key. How can they write a Steam-review?
