Yes I can confirm these errors as well. I'm playing the Shifting Sands. I'm in Sydney Australia and my windows 10 Home is set to English (Australia).

If I own the steam version do I need to use this "updater" that I have been reading about?

<t> Thanks guys.. I uninstalled the game from my normal hard drive and reinstalled it to my SSD and it's way smoother. <br/>
I turned the range symbols to selected unit which works much better as well.<br/>
I also turned of Steams overlay which was a problem when in the game.<br/>
