Soviet Offensive

<t> In my current game I'm in February of 43 and I'm in the transition to red army 2.0, which is a new experience for me. One question I have for more experienced soviet players, do you have a rule of thumb you use for how much to commit on attacks against fortified lines? I've got my own strategy ...

RE: Attaching Support units to Corps

<t> For static units, once I'm able to form rifle corps I stick my motorized support units in and then make them static. I get all their trucks and the static unit gets a big firepower boost. Eventually if I decide to attack again I'll put a more logical combination of support units in but that'll ...

RE: Attaching Support units to Corps

I've definitely had a truck issue, but I think most of mine stems from my enormous losses in 41 and 42 (about 9 million). I'm good when I keep my tanks parked but when I have 6 tank armies active I'm at 70k out of 135k needed in early 43.

RE: Design Criticism

<t> One more criticism, unit supply when the rail network is broken. Why is it that even with fully stocked cities nearby with rail yards and plenty of trucks, being disconnected from a permanent supply source means ALL SUPPLIES STOP BEING DELIVERED! [:@]<br/>
<br/>
In my current campaign the rail ...

RE: Design Criticism

I've got all my notes and I plan to put one together. I'm an engineer by day and I've got two three year olds though so I don't think it's getting done till I finish the game. If there's a slowdown in our rapid pace I'll try and start posting my results from 1941.

RE: Design Criticism

<t> I mean don't get me wrong, I've put in close to 300 hours in the game in the past 2 months, there isn't anything else quite like WITE. That said, playing soviets is a serious exercise in patience. I'm looking forward to what they come up with in WITE 2. <br/>

Design Criticism

<t> Hi all, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but in my current game I've had an interesting experience so far as the Soviets and I wanted to share some criticism and observations on design and balance of the game. <br/>

Upload File Failure: Error [15]- retry save?

I finished playing my turn on a server game and it's coming up with an error "Upload File Failure: Error [15]- retry save?". Is there any way to fix this without losing my turn?

Looking for Expert Axis player

<t> Hi all, I was hoping to play against a powerhouse axis player in a 41-45 bitter end campaign. I've done very well against "historical" play, so I'd like to try going against someone who uses every trick available. I would prefer +1 attack, but I'm open to any settings. I can probably do a turn ...

I'll play against you, mild blizzard +1 sounds good to me. Any specific rules on bombing etc?

RE: Defending against Bombers

<t> End result was that the port was destroyed, Leningrad is isolated. The timely advice cost Hermann a lot of his bombers though [:D]<br/>

Just a warning though Hermann since I'm not sure if you noticed yet. You've taught me a dangerous tactic, I'm set up in near Sevastopol to do long range ...

Defending against Bombers

<t> Hi All,<br/>
<br/>
In my current game I'm trying to defend Leningrad and my opponent is bombing the port, nothing unusual there. My problem is that not a single plane from the VVS has responded to the bombing runs, and just lets them go do their thing. I know russian morale is low, but I ...

GC 41 to 45 Opponent Wanted

<t> Hi everyone!<br/>
<br/>
I'm looking to play the Soviets in a grand campaign game, the AI just isn't cutting it anymore for me. I'm a new dad though, so I can only guarantee a few turns per week. If anyone's up for a long running game I'll stick with it though, let me know if you're interested ...
