Cataclysm 1947

Greetings.

I thought that I'd given up on this scenario 18 months ago. Oh well, I guess not. However, I'm still pretty sure that I will never finish it because it is HUGE. So, why am I starting this thread?

I want to share what I have with people who might be interested in developing this scenario ...

RE: Europa 1947 for TOAW IV

<t> Hi Everybody,<br/>
<br/>
I have put Cataclysm 47 on indefinite hold. Simply put, the scenario is too complicated to be represented by TOAW in its current form.<br/>
<br/>
The number of house rules kept growing and growing until nobody but me could understand (or be willing to use) them. Most ...

RE: Europa 1947 for TOAW IV

<t> There have been complications getting my new computer up and running. But that means I've been able to finish up the Italian OOB on this old computer. It might be a while before my new machine is operational. In the meantime, this old machine is still mostly functional...<br/>

RE: Europa 1947 for TOAW IV

<t> I'm getting a new computer tomorrow. It will take me a day or two to get it up and running. So, I probably won't finish the Italian OOB until Sunday or Monday.<br/>

Have you thought about making partisans entirely "abstract"? I mean, having them give malus to Axis supply or shock values through events instead of having them physically on the map? <br/>

I tell you this just because I have an ...

RE: Europa 1947 for TOAW IV

<t> I decided to delete the Polish and Czechoslovakian partisans from the Allied OOB. By the time the Allies get close to the pre-war Polish and Czechoslovakian borders, the Axis will be in serious trouble already. Adding a dozen partisan units at that time won't make the game more interesting or ...

RE: PO Bridge Repairs?

<t> I know it sounded like a silly question from somebody who's been playing this game for nearly 15 years. I've been testing my coastal forts, and along the Atlantic Wall I've been bombing the rail/bridge net by the Allies to simulate pre-invasion preparations. And the Germans haven't been able to ...

<t> Partisan Problems.<br/>
Well, I've finished the partisan OOBs, but there is trouble. My basic house rule for partisans is that partisans may not leave the boundaries of their country. However, there are no national boundaries for Poland and Czechoslovakia since both of those nations ceased to ...

RE: Coastal Artillery Question

<r> At last I have a working solution to the coastal-artillery problem. This WILL work.<br/>
<br/>
Step 1. Build a naval task force of the appropriate strength.<br/>
Step 2. Add the "fixed artillery" symbol as the 2nd unit type. This immobilizes the unit.<br/>
Step 3. Open the Unit Report and ...

<t> Well, I was incorrect. <br/>

Here is the problem. I'm building a fortified line. If the forts in that line go Tactical Reserve, they get no defensive bonus, right? But if the forts are in Fortified mode and are knocked out of Fortified mode due to enemy attacks, then what happens? In ...
