Is there any way to get the PO to repair blown bridges?

In some PO scenarios I think I've seen the AI repair bridges so it should be possible.

Of course it is, give him some engineer squads in units with objectives on bridge hexes.

I know it sounded like a silly question from somebody who's been playing this game for nearly 15 years. I've been testing my coastal forts, and along the Atlantic Wall I've been bombing the rail/bridge net by the Allies to simulate pre-invasion preparations. And the Germans haven't been able to reinforce the invasion zones because they haven't been able to repair the bridges.

However, one thing I did not try was to assign objective values to the bridges. This time I will create dedicated "bridge engineers" as well as assign an objective value of at least 1 to every bridge in the invasion zones.

If you have rails at the bridge locations, you can also raise the Auto Rail Repair for the PO. This will repair the bridges also.
