Which of the incorporated mods removed the frigates? Tried looking by myself but couldn't point it down on any of them
I'm not sure what mod did it either, but I believe you can go into the "gametext.txt" and change things back.
right now these things were changed
Frigates became destroyers ...

Is this kinda broken? I started a Legends game as Humans and it spawned me in with the name Atukko 2 and Atukko 1 was the Atukk race and they were literally right next to me and immediately started attacking me because I was in their airspace.

Trying this out with a couple of my personal tweaks. Thanks for putting all this work into an old game. I have DW2 but I can't bring myself to play it lol.

DWUR works ok on my Win7 64-bit 8GB ram set-up with 1366x768 resolution. Windows 10 and up does bugger-up some older games though, which is why I won't upgrade, and I don't like the idea of Distant Worlds 2 even though it looks great. Maybe if there was a demo I could have a go at before DL'ing ...

It's really only a hassle if you like to design different sub-types of destroyers or whatever and want to have them visually different, otherwise it's not that bothersome or game-breaking.
You know...I do remember when either Alvek or Bacon introduced that feature of multiple ship graphics per ...

Yeah that's an old graphic quirk. I've never been able to "fix" that. If you swap out planet graphics...even if you keep the resolution the same...you get that extra "shadow".

It's a problem with DWUR. The multiple-ship pics works with vanilla bacon/expansion mod, just not with DWUR for some reason even if you do change them to escort1, escort2 etc.
Hrmm...definitely not something I did intentionally :oops:
Maybe it's how DWUR works with ExpansionMod / BaconMod ...

Hey I tried playing with this and the expansion mod. There are lots of factions and pirate factions. But there are also two empires in my game that I can see in the world, but I can't do diplomacy on them. The game keeps spamming me every few seconds that I have met a new empire in the <name ...

I suppose the followup question is: Is the expanded mod a required component? It's the expanded mod's DistantWorld.exe that I'm having a problem with under Wine, not this mod.
I'm trying to think...Expansion Mod (or BaconMod, which Expansion is a continuation of...) I don't think is a hard ...

I'm confused about the following step..
Step 3: Exit DWU and restart. (Yes, this is necessary). If you don't exit and restart, not all of the theme assets will be loaded. Just a quirk of DWU.
I'm running the GOG version using Wine. When I change the theme and restart DWU, it doesn't remember the ...

Any plans to expand or reform government? I saw this old mod that (I think) never got actually published, and it could be a good addition in my opinion.

Quite a few troop icons are recycled for example 5 races (give or take) use the Atuuk images which is fine. Wondering if intentional.
You know...troop icons are one of the parts of DWU I've never messed with. Frankly, not sure where I might have brought all of them in from.
