Japanese Opponent Wanted - Closed

I am a relative newbie and no experience in PBEM. The AI giving no real threat has generated an interest in branching out to trying a game against a human. The only experience I have so far is as Allies, so I'd prefer that. The biggest problem with trying to play Japanese at this time would be an ...

RE: Naval movement bug?

<r> Wow. That algorithm is ridiculously convoluted, but I shouldn't have much difficulty modeling it in my calculator. Thanks for the input.<br/>

<QUOTE><s>
</s>So it should be ... only a 10% chance for a +2. <e>
</e></QUOTE>

I guess the next question is why in MWiF 3.5:5 ...

RE: Combat prosecution/resolution suggestion

<t> Not entirely. At first I did word it in a way that would allow some land combat to be resolved prior to other.<br/>
<br/>
But bearing in mind the intention to force players to commit their support prior to any resolutions, the game could save all resolutions until all commitments have been ...

Combat prosecution/resolution suggestion

<t> I understand that after land combat declaration, all the phases are gone through to establish the final combat odds. When the final combat odds are established, the phasing player can then decide which attack he wants to execute first.<br/>
<br/>
I'd like to suggest another approach: After ...

RE: Naval movement bug?

<r> I'm telling you, that between 1 / 5 odds and 1 / 1 odds, the formula 4 - 2 / odds = the modifier.<br/>
<br/>
4 - 2 / 0.2 = 4 - 10, matches -6 in the table<br/>
4 - 2 / 0.25 = 4 - 8, matches -4 in the table<br/>
4 - 2 / 0.33 = 4 - 6, matches -2 in the table<br/>
4 - 2 / 0.5 = 4 - 4, matches ...

RE: Naval movement bug?

<t> That must be it, BrianJH. Thanks. I had no idea that rule existed. <br/>
<br/>
On a side note, because I'm trying to play the game with better strategy, I have developed a calculator that aids me. I have a list of inputs to establish total available attacking resources versus total available ...

Naval movement bug?

<t> As Germany, I moved my fleet out from Kiel to Faeroes Gap. I eliminated all ships of speed 3 or less, so all I had was 4s, 5s, and 6s. <br/>
<br/>
I doubt this is relevant, but it may be a trigger for the bug: I loaded a unit onto a transport that was sitting in the same hex. I moved out to ...

Saved games format

<t> My brother and I are playing a game by email. We had both been running 1.4.0 and discovered that there was an update to 1.4.5 available, so we both got it at about the same time but I got it after I'd finished my impulse. I was playing Axis and had finished my impulse safely with no overstacking ...

Here it is. Italy is the partisan's controller, in case that matters. Thanks for looking into this.

Edit: Using version 1.4.0.0

Possible Partisan Bug

<r> I did a quick search and this issue didn't stand out. Is this working as intended? My brother and I think that China should no be getting these resources from CW. Both are going through this rail crossroads that the Burmese partisans are sitting on. And my understanding is they have a ZOC in ...

RE: Italian aligned Spanish movement

<t> Could you expound on the bug? Does it impact only Spain? Does it impact only until the next turn or impulse, at which time Spain will be able to move more men out? In case this should be public knowledge, is there a link or database we might have access to that we could read more about this bug ...

Italian aligned Spanish movement

<t> My brother and I are playing a hot-seat game. He took Gibraltar with Italy [&o]. When he aligned Spain as Italy, everything went smoothly. He even moved five Spanish corps outside of Spain into southern France. However, after getting farther along in the impulse, he had to reload back to ...
