Supreme 2.0 wrote: Mon Sep 25, 2023 12:44 pm Hi, quick question just to understand things properly. I probably won't be able to continue my saved games from 1126b in v1127, or will I? Thanks
I believe the answer is no - the underlying map data changes in 1127, which is a breaking change.

Re: Mac M1, Crossover, Parallels and WITP

Parallels works great for me, got a new iMac (M1) a few months back. I could never get Wine/Crossover to work, but going the formal VM route worked perfectly!

Re: Westerley Wind, Fine NJP72 (J) vs Lowpe (A) DBB Sce 30

Definitely agree on how crucial the Frank is, one question: was the size 128 (I think I have that math right?) in the screenshot intentional? 30 is optimal R&D size iirc, was wondering if there was a brilliant plan behind that. Thanks!

Re: "An Albatross around my (bottle)neck" - LST vs Jansako (A)

I’ve wanted to give Bottlenecks a try for a while. How hard does it make it to “keep the lights on” for Japan early on?

Best of luck in the campaign!

Re: *URGENT* - fragments of air groups affect 5 group limit on carriers

I believe the restriction is on putting the squadrons on in excess of 5, so my guess would be they will fly. Definitely interested in confirming that if you run the turn.

RE: Aerial Recon

I have seen what seems to be a slight improvement on the margins when doing low altitude recon v. high, but it feels so slight that I still will usually fly at ceiling to protect the airframes. I know that’s not mentioned in the manual, but it wouldn’t be the only thing omitted either.

RE: Variants and Options

This is a really cool innovation, even for a non-PBEM player like me. Was wondering if a fun wrinkle would be for it not being new points, but taking existing assets and changing them around as a way to introduce more uncertainty into what the opponents OOB looks like.

Any of you AFBs ever buy out the 13th Armored Divsions?

IIRC, 13th Armored is permanent restricted.

The IJA Babs ad the IJN Babs should use different engines so they should be different air frames and pools.
Correct, they are different airframes in game.

The computer will prioritize (generally) higher value ships, but it’s very dependent on DL. Get more search up, and it should work itself out.

RE: Reducing recon ops & flak losses

That helps - sounds like I was conflating the TF DL rule with the general DL rule. So if DL doesn’t get reset to zero for bases, you do benefit from recon from the day before.
