Re: What will be the next game?

I have been wondering how this game engine could handle early modern warfare — for example the Napoleonic Wars, the War of the Spanish Succession, the Seven Years’ War, or even the American Civil War.

I think the RSV unit concept and the game’s basic logistics model could work extremely well for ...

Re: Movement questions

This is actually beautiful. It reminds me of some of the best experiences I’ve had playing AGEOD games — playing cat and mouse with my opponents along the Hudson River in WIA, or spending entire campaign seasons in Rise of Prussia manoeuvring around the Elbe in 1756, 1757, and 1758.

Re: Movement questions

Is entering enemy hex with enemy unit there in movement operation mode not risky?
dont they get slaughtered?

Or maybe if unit moves in movement mode but with defensive posture it wont start fighting but just get a foothold in new hex to start fight another day?

Re: What will be the next game?

I think that World War One on the Eastern Front could be portrayed very well with this engine. There was a lot of naval action, some maneuver warfare, and some frontal fighting.

Perhaps even the whole of World War One.

The Balkan Wars of 1878 and 1912–1913.

The Russo-Japanese War.

The Russian ...

Movement questions

I am trying to understand some aspects of moving Land Combat Units (LCUs) around.

If I am moving my unit from one hex neighbouring an enemy unit to another hex neighbouring an enemy unit, is my unit somehow influenced by their zone of control? Or does it depend on the border of the hex they control ...

Re: Cutting away supply from enemy units

I just dont get how is this republican unit ( arrow pointed) still supplied?

Is it because they are in the city? Should i then whidrw from the hex and bomb them with my brave italian air force?

( its republican perspective now loaded)

Re: Cutting away supply from enemy units

how do you project control on those hexes to SE of Nationalist unit?

You wrote that he can move there. But will that move be longer then moving to NE because over there is no projection of your power?

Re: Cutting away supply from enemy units

thank you so very much

so i need to have units in the hex where surrounded unit is located? i cannot blockade it by simply controling surrounding hexes?

one more thing - can hex control be different on different hex borders?

Supply and surrounding

I seriously don’t get it.

I had a 10,000-strong Republican force surrounded in the mountains. They were 3–4 hexes away from any other Republican force. They were not in a town. To make sure they were cut off, I put a strong force in every single hex surrounding them.

For 10 days, their supply ...

Cutting away supply from enemy units

Hey.
I managed to surround couple of enemy units. I wonder how cutting away supply works in the game.
Should i keep a full circle of units around enemy? Does supply flow throug contested hexes? or is the any kind of control over hexes that are neigbouring my units?

Re: it could be better

I know. I love it. I just fell that map could provide more information about units without a need to enter unit panel. Like corps/division attachment, supply level and network and so on.

Just like most of the war games do. Just as most of the people are used to - and I belive it would make game ...

renaming units and HQ capacity

When I combine units they tend to have “infrantry regiment” generic name. Is there a way to rename it? More less the way i can do it with naval TF?

Morover, is there a way to measure how many units i can attach to HQ? Like maximum capacity.

Does it make sense to create HQ units? Is there a ...

Hey

I love this game, i respect your effort.
But still I kind of fell it could be made much more accessible and fun to play if there would better on map information.
Instead of fancy plane animation I would love game to focus map in place where battle or naval engagement happe. I would love to see ...
