Amphibous Ops at Iwo Jima

<t> Ok, what am I doing wrong? September, 1944. I have three Amph TFs, each carrying an Infantry or Marine Division. The ships are APA, AKA, LSI, and LST.<br/>
<br/>
Used 6x3 BBs to bombard pre-invasion. B-24+B-29 airfield/port/ground attack missions causing chaos.<br/>

ARD Flotation Repair

Ok, I have an ARD in Manus and a LCI with 18 points of flotation damage. I have the LCI on "Repair Ship" mode but the color is red "1" (days). After two turns no change to the flotation damage. Yes, only the LCI is on repair ship mode. I read the Ship Repair 101 Guide and it doesn't help.

Laying Mines

<t> It is Dec '43 and a fair amount of Japanese subs are routinely making their way into Sydney and San Francisco. My ASW assets are not cutting it. I want to place minefields in the port hex and maintain them but I've never done it before and so I hesitate. Will my ships sail into my own mines? If ...

Repairing USS West Virginia and USS California

<t> It is October '43 and both ships are in Pearl shipyard repairs on High since Dec 08 '41...WV has a sys/flt/eng damage of 70/39/45 and CA has 73/52/37. Historically the ships were seaworthy to get back to the West Coast (CA in June '42 and WV in May '43)...what did I do wrong? Looks like they ...

RE: Singapore

Or if Percival did not surrender without a fight...that isn't gamey as well...I fought on and it's now October '43 and pretty much over for Japan...part of the reason is I held onto Singapore, Sumatra and Java.

AE as Replenishers

<t> Awhile back Hans let me know in another thread that if you invade Indochina after Dec 31, 1943, no militias are created.<br/>
<br/>
Now, with the AE class, the manual says "later in the war" they can replenish ammunition at sea much like an AO with fuel...does anyone know when this takes place ...

RE: Another Base's Auto Conversion to Allied Control

<t> Thanks for the info...jeeez...maybe I should 'cheat a little' (set for Allied AI and reload the previous turn just to see if the militias activated). I have not moved into any Indochina.<br/>
<br/>
And if they did activate, I am doing well in Thailand/North Malaysia but don't have enough ...

Another Base's Auto Conversion to Allied Control

<t> I was initially going to add this to the "Loyang Auto" thread below but decided to start a new thread.<br/>

Allies in Thailand (August '43) and my closest unit to Indochina is a battalion in Udon Thani. All of the sudden Vientiane (no Japanese upgrades, just ...

New Ships with Old Names

<t> Ok, July '43 now...in a short amount of time I receive the CV "Yorktown II"...problem is CV-5 is still afloat...I understand the real=life situation but it appears there wasn't a naming priority list in the game's programming. Will I have two Yorktowns zipping about? Can I use them in a tag-team ...

So it seems I must continue to fight RTA units until at least 1944.

Royal Thai Army (RTA)

I have pushed the Allies into northern Thailand and making slow progress south. Is there a trigger for either Thailand as a nation or RTA units individually to surrender? It is June '43.

Land Artillery Bombardment Missions

<t> Thanks for your comments on my ARD thread...now to artillery...I have a group of about four Japanese units (1x Inf Div, 2x Inf Rgt, 1x Engineer) surrounded in north Malaysia(across from the Burma border). They are very strong and the units are not deprived yet of their own supply. My question is ...

<t> Ok, it's May '43 and I received one in Seattle. Reading the history of the first one it was towed to Espiritu Santo to work there. The version in the game has a speed of 5.<br/>

2. How does it work? (Join together with damaged ship in a TF or in a ...
