RE: Command Modern Operations

<t> You know, although I haven't made the jump to CMO (yet!) my experience of CMANO runs thus:<br/>
<br/>
Few years back, bought Northern Inferno, mainly to see if CMANO was for me, but at a much reduced price (standalone dlc).<br/>
<br/>
Gave NI a whirl, then felt happier with justifying to ...

RE: HUD elements are too big?

You can drag the 'units' panel up, but you need to click and hold the very upper edge of the panel, and I mean virtually the outer pixels!

The ui is just not very good in this game...

RE: Graphic issues with main menu

<t> I'm unable to help, am afraid, but I just wanted to post with exactly the same issue. The pointer/ button displacement thing also happens with me on options menus - when hovering over an option, the tooltip shows (or should I say showed - the tooltip seems to have disappeared completely now!) as ...

RE: Mouse auto focus

Thanks for the replies, gents. Single-clicking to activate windows/ main screen is no big deal in the grand scheme of this wonderful game. I can live with it [:)]

[WAD] Mouse auto focus

<t> Hello all... quick question.<br/>
A few updates back, one of the UI user-requested tweaks in the changelog was to do with 'Auto-focus on main map and secondary windows when mouse cursor enters them'. If I understand this change correctly, it doesn't seem to be working for me (ie. I still have ...

RE: Whacky UI...

<t> JPJ, I've just tried your settings and it makes a huge difference... wonderful! Counter movement is much cleaner now.<br/>
<br/>
Ironically though, I still had to be careful in the 'Player Settings' as there was still the vertical displacement issue (ie. in your screenshot, to change the ...

RE: Whacky UI...

<t> Meyer1, I've just watched the first video from your link and see the same thing as I see in-game - the moving counters seem to redraw a little slowly, leading to a slightly jittery 'graphics trail' effect. I know I'm being OCD with this one, but I like to see counters skip cleanly from one place ...

RE: Whacky UI...

<t> sPzAbt653 and Meyer1, thank you gentlemen for your replies and advice.<br/>
<br/>
The 'black box' solution (turn off tooltips) - being new to the game/ series, I feel I need the tooltips at the moment, so I'll just live with the glitch.<br/>

The vertical displacement UI issue ...

RE: Whacky UI...

<t> I too find the UI somewhat clumsy. The lingering black box issue is rather annoying, unit counters feel like they move from hex to hex very jerkily, and I feel the game really needs a full-screen option as the edge-of-window map scrolling seems to have a life of its own.<br/>
<br/>
Also, in ...

RE: Regular expansion packs are good!

<t> I think what the naysayers are missing also is that CoW, and NI before it, are offered as stand-alone games, letting you experience Command at a much lower price point. You don't need the 'base' game, nor are you obliged to buy it. Personally, I think the 'mix-and-match' model is a great ...

Good Lord, I've purchased a monster

<t> Having been a long time dabbler in wargames (recently Panzer Corps, Unity of Command, and all the way back to Vulcan on ZX Spectrum!), I bought WitW on sale. It has to be said that this was done in a state of inebriation. My befuddled brain convinced me that I would have the patience, time ...

RE: Maybe buying

<r> Soren, thank you for your kind welcome [:)] Yes, I suspect I will have the odd question about this monster...I'm finding the tutorials more challenging than most full-blown games! This is ultra-hardcore with a capital 'U'. I may have to play some Dwarf Fortress just for a little light relief ...

<r> Hah! What do ya know...further to my earlier post, Santa was good to me. Am now the proud, if slightly befuddled, owner of CMANO as well as NI [:)]<br/>
<br/>
I haven't even <I><s></s>found<e></e></I> the surface of this 'game' yet, far less scratched it! Loving it though...makes Hearts ...

RE: Maybe buying

<t> You know, from my point of view, Northern Inferno as a standalone expansion is a really smart move. I've been intrigued by CMANO on and off for a while, but have to admit to being put off by the price. Having kids, a mortgage, bills to pay etc., I never really got close to justifying (to myself ...

Yes, it's there. The files within play normally if opened with media player. Still not hearing them in-game though. Thanks for replying.

[ANSWERED] No sound or music

<t> Hello all. I've recently purchased NI. Even as a Paradox grand strat enthusiast, this game is melting my brain...in a good way [:)]<br/>
<br/>
Anyway, my only problem is that I have no in-game music or effects, despite the checkboxes being ticked in Options. The intro plays fine and clear ...
