Re: Transfer a/c to Allies?

Ah, ok. Thanks.

So, it's not something I can control or even influence as a player in-game.

Transfer a/c to Allies?

Kia ora folks,
I'm currently working my way through the long campaign as Nazis. I've found that I have an excess of middling Bf109s which I'd like to transfer to the Bulgarians and Romanians as they'd be a vast improvement on their IAR 81Cs and D.520s, but I can't find a way to transfer stocks of ...

RE: Good "hard" military history of Overlord?

Yeah, whoever wrote "history is written by the victors" had obviously never heard of the Eastern Front. (Or the US Civil War, for that matter)

RE: Good "hard" military history of Overlord?

<r> @Searry,<br/>
there is plenty of great writing on the campaign in NWE, but it's spread across multiple authors. Which is fine - you should always be a bit side-eye about any single source that's supposedly definitive.<br/>

FWIW, I'm a bit red-green colour blind. The current colour palette you've used means I have a little difficulty picking out the mountains from the hills. I *think* that ...

RE: historical command changes

I agree with Dobey, except for one proviso: commanders that got posted out-of-theatre (Frenedall to the US, Park to Burma, etc) should be automatic on (or randomly near) the appropriate date. In-theatre postings should remain in the player's hands.

RE: Campaign Game VP System needs revision

<r> "use a turn by turn metric. Which is a huge step in the right direction."<br/>
<br/>
No dispute there. In a game like this turn-by-turn is much superior to hope-you're-doing-the-right-thing-then-wait-a-really-long-time-until-the-end-to-find-out. But you've already acknowledged that scoring ...

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>The bombing is something you just have to be upfront about. Say you need 'x' number of points per turn in 1943. 'y' number of points per turn in 1st half 1944...and so on. The players can decide if they want to bomb harder in earlier turns so they can bomb ground troops ...

Yugoslavia and the Ljubljana Gap

<r> Throughout the Italian Campaign the British Command maintained a shared fantasy about debouching into southern Germany via the Ljubljana Gap north-east of Trieste. On several occasions - especially before the departure of forces for Op DRAGOON - they tried to convince the Americans of the wisdom ...
