Kamikazes and Battleships

No battleship was sunk by a kamikaze in World War 2. Most battleships only took minor to insignificant damage when hit by a kamikaze. I had read one account where the US battleship turret crew didn't even realize that their turret had be directly hit by a kamikaze. I would suggest that all battleshi...

Cookie Cutter Fleet Carriers

In the game, Japanese, UK and US fleet carriers are identical. I would like to see them with national characteristics. For example, Japanese unarmored carrier aircraft were always able to out range Allied carrier aircraft. Japanese carriers had terrible damage control. UK carriers had armored flight...

Is there any point to researched AA past Level 3?

There is good value for researching AA through Level 2 for most units. Level 3 is useful for AA guns and certain critical hexes. Level 3 AA is therefore good for Germany, Japan, China and the Soviet Union. But I don't see the value in researching Level 4 and above for upgrading critical hexes only. ...

Re: Fort Craig

I was an alpha and a beta tester on this great game. I have passed all of these Western facts onto Ryan. He is the game designer. He did a great job designing this game. It's up to him if he feels like these changes should be made. I'm the reason why naval mines got pulled from the game. In play tes...

Re: Fort Craig

Unfortunately, no. I looked up a Civil War map of New Mexico. There is a road running East from Taos through a Rocky Mountain pass that isn't shown on the game map. On that New Mexico map, Fort Union is around forty miles South of that unmarked East road through the pass. Fort Union looks to be arou...

Fort Craig

My wife and I took a driving trip to New Mexico. We visited the Fort Craig National Historic Site. This was an impressive fort with a wooden timber wall reinforced by a higher earth berm behind it. According to Wiki, “By July 1861, Fort Craig had become the largest fort in the Southwest, with over 2...

Re: Cannot deploy a unit

If Batavia's supply has dropped below five due to the two besieging Japanese units adjacent, then unfortunately you would not be able to deploy that new unit. I don't believe that the DEI has an alternative deployment hex in addition to the capitol, Batavia. Therefore, I believe that until the DEI h...

Re: Singapore.

Actually, the Strategy Guide says, "If the Dutch East Indies surrenders, any of their units at sea will continue to fight on from exile, while those on the soil of another Allied power will have a 10% chance of doing so." I have flown the DEI Fighter several times to Australia before the s...

Re: Detach and supply mysteries

One Auto issue that I have noticed is that the AI frequently has unattached units when HQ attachments are available when multiple HQ's are present. A prime example is the German War in Europe 1942 Campaign. A number of German units on the Russian Front aren't HQ attached when they could be.

Re: Detach and supply mysteries

I always use Auto-Assist and I recheck attachments from time to time. There are times due to bad weather (monsoons), inferior tech or damaged aircraft that I can't afford to repair, that I prefer to attach ground units instead of aircraft, like in the Soviet Union.

Re: Spying and Intelligence.

My conclusion is that there is currently very little value to the Soviet Union investing in Intelligence. I have attached the following from comments that I have read online. In the current patch (War in Europe version 1.26), is it ever worth the USSR investing in Intelligence (either pre-or post-Ba...

Re: [Champions League - Allies POV] Game #8 ElvisJJonesRamb vs Archmache

There was a change in v1.05.00 - The pro-Axis effect on Spain when the Allies declare war on Portugal has been increased from 35-45% to 35-60% (crispy131313). I was a little surprised to discover that after Japan declares war on the US, that Australian troops can conquer Timor with no diplomatic pen...

Re: (Allies POV AAR) - Archmache vs ElvisJJonesRambo

Are you aware that as of version 1.12 the following events reduces US National Morale: - The USA currently loses 25 National Morale points per turn if Hawaii including its ports are under Axis occupation. This will now increase to 125 points per turn that Honolulu is occupied by the Axis. It will in...

I would prefer that the raider mode be the default mode for all ships, in all of the Strategic Command games. The few ships that one doesn't want to be raiders can easily be turned off.

Re: Bring the Afrika Korps back to Africa!

There are game events that must happen for the game to play well. This is despite the fact that that these events historically happened, when they shouldn’t have been able to happen. Norway shouldn’t have been conquered by Germany, which had an inferior navy. France should have been a World War 1 st...
