Memory not released before loading a new game

I noticed that if I save a game, and then every time I reload this game, the memory usage will increase by around 200MB. It seems that the memory is not completely cleaned before a new savegame is loaded.

This might be a problem for computers with small memory (e.g. 8 GB, which is the minimum ...

RE: Crash and long loading time

<t> Thanks for your response, Rick!<br/>
<br/>
To be honest, now I am not really concerned about the long loading time issue, because it is not a crash after all. Now I am more concerned about the last issue I mentioned in my last post, which is that sometimes the game will crash with the message ...

RE: Crash and long loading time

<t> Update: I was able to solve the second issue (i.e. game crash) by choosing "application" in the high-DPI scaling setting of "PCOstfront.exe". Previously it was set to "system". Moreover, to prevent crashing, the game must run in admin mode. Both these two settings are required for the game to ...

Crash and long loading time

<t> I am using the most recent version of Win10 (18363.535). My PC specs are good enough to play this game (i7-7700HQ, Nvidia GTX 1050, 12GB RAM). The game runs in admin mode and the only antivirus software I have is Windows Defender (I exclude the game folder in the scan setting).<br/>

RE: New 2D counters ready and available to download

Thank you very much for your good-looking counters and I really love them! I was wondering if you would consider changing the color of Soviet counters to red, as you did in WIE, I feel that the current color is not very distinguishable from some other countries (such as Japan and Britain).

A potential improvement on performance

<t> Hi! Thanks so much for this wonderful game! I notice that when I just open a new scenario, when I move my mouse quickly across different hexes, the hex information on the bottom of the screen can switch quickly. However, after I finish some combats, when I move my mouse across different hexes ...

RE: How to Upgrade from the Battlefront Version

Hi, I own the original version and the gold version (but neither of the expansion packs). I wonder how I can get the 60% discount. Should I enter my license key as well? Thanks!

RE: Map scrolling

Could you please also move the control panels on the right a little bit leftwards so that scrolling eastwards will also become easier.

RE: Easier to scroll

<t> Yes, I think it has something to do with bars and panels (info bars and control panels). After I hide them, scrolling becomes much easier. So I tried to hide the info bar and move the control panels on the right a little bit away from the edge. But another problem is that the game will not ...

RE: Easier to scroll

I really appreciate your hard work, ralphtrick! I just feel that moving the cursor to the edge might be one the most "natural" ways to scroll the map.

RE: Easier to scroll

I just want to add that the most ideal experience is that when we move our cursor to the edge of the whole screen (not the edge of the window), the map can still scroll.

RE: Easier to scroll

<t> Hi Zakblood,<br/>
Thanks for your reply! I just checked the whole forum and I don't think I am the first one that found this problem. I am not allowed to post links yet, but maybe you can look at the posts titled "Full-Screen Option" and "down screen arrow" in the main forum (I think both of ...

Easier to scroll

<t> I think it is not easy to scroll eastwards or southwards. Every time I have to find a very narrow region in which I can scroll (especially scrolling eastwards, maybe because of those control panels). I wonder if it is possible to maybe make this region larger. I don't really want to use arrow ...
