RE: Comunist china kingdom

<t> I had a game where Communist China surrendered and then sometime later China also surrendered. However in one of the cities in the far west of China near the USSR border there was a Communist China HQ that could not be attacked. It was only once Japan declared war on USSR that the Communist ...

Failed (animate_paratroop_unit_combat): segmentation violation

I get the above message which results in a fatal error during the AI's turn of 4th August 1940 during the 1939 campaign. I am playing as the Allies. I do have the game saved but not sure how to upload or send it to you.

Thank you for any help you can give.

RE: Now I've seen everything

<t> I have just finished the game where Japan surrendered to China. In the very last move in 1947 Germany surrendered due to low morale to....China! USA had invaded southern Germany and held Munich, but where still at the Belgium border, while the UK held Hamburg in the north but no other parts of ...

The current game where this has happened is version 1.02, and I think the first time was 1.01

RE: Now I've seen everything

<t> I have had two games where Japan has surrendered due to low morale rather than capitals. In both cases they surrendered to China, who only held a small section of north west China, never mind any of Japan. Southern and parts of central and eastern China had been liberated by a combination of USA ...

RE: Strange edge of map graphics bug

This has also happens to me occasionnally in WAW, and, more frequently, in the eastern extremity of Russia in WIE. It's not a problem though, it simply rectifys itself by just zooming in/out

General Stillwell suicide mission

<t> Playing as the Allies against the AI I accepted the Gen Stillwell decision event and he was placed just beside Kunming.<br/>
Unfortunately there was a couple of Japanese units sitting right there to and he was immediately destroyed next turn before I had a chance to move him.<br/>
Perhaps he ...

RE: Difference in Scale Between the Two Games

<t> I appreciate the difficulties you must have in balancing creating the "perfect" game while also ensuring playability, I am sure it is very difficult, and I understand the logic in not having a WIE scale for a global map.<br/>

RE: Difference in Scale Between the Two Games

<t> Hi Hubert<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for the detailed reply to the WAW/AOD map comparison, it is this sort of over and beyond service that makes yourself and Bill stand out from other game developers.<br/>
<br/>
I have to be honest and state that my initial reaction to WAW was based on my memory of ...

RE: Difference in Scale Between the Two Games

I understand the logic not to use a WIE scale for a world map but would a AOD scale not have been a good compromise

RE: Difference in Scale Between the Two Games

Hubert, thanks for the response. I was just wondering was there any particular reason to revert to a smaller map than was used in the previous "Global" game ie AOD? It just seems a backwards step

RE: Difference in Scale Between the Two Games

<t> I have bought every incarnation of Strategic Command through the years and have never been disappointed, they have all been excellent. <br/>
However I have been both surprised and disappointed with WAW. I had expected that the map size would be at least the same scale and size as the last ...

RE: Map Size

<t> It just seems a strange decision to revert back to a smaller map. AOD was a great leap forward from the original Global game, and whilst I appreciate that WAW has all the improvements from WIE it just seems a backward step to go back to a smaller map. The game has much more of a feel of the ...

RE: Map Size

<t> Just started playing my first game this morning and the scale is definitely smaller than AOD, certainly in the pacific theatre at least where it has the feel of being quite a bit smaller. I have to say that this is very disappointing, the first time I have ever thought this about a Strategic ...

France Surrender

I know if you have taken Paris with the Germans and then take Algiers with the Italians causing the French to surrender then Italy get the Mpps. However if you take Algiers with the Italians and Paris with the Germans on the same turn and then France surrenders then who gets the MPPs?
