You have to do a workaround with sounds: make the relevant sound file, then rename it the exact name for that unit's default file slot, and drop the file into the scenario's /Sound folder.

I already have a pretty beefy desktop rig, but need a PC for the road for my frequent travels, where my old tablet can't run a lot of things (such as PC games). Budget is $1000, can be stretched to $1500; want to avoid bloatware if at all possible.

I'm going to tell you right now, that the amount of work involved will be many times what you may naively think it will be at the start. And you likely won't be making a custom map for it-if you do, that will quadruple your workload. Not to discourage you, just speaking from experience.

The workaround map size kludge is possible (PM me if you really want to know how), but the devs indicated doing so may break things in the game engine.

At my current pace (no gamebreakers so far), expect the test group to finally be called by Labor Day. I was on a trip for the 1st third of August ...
