Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v3.0

Thanks Elessar for actually turning my crappy map mod into something usable! I still can't believe I just sat there with a WITP:AE map open and painstakingly copied it across 1:1 onto a blank map.

You're welcome sam , but Nginear deserves a lot of the credit for taking our work and ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

Mid August 1942:

https://i.ibb.co/pr0ZT7TX/Aug-42.jpg

More or less historical, tho Moscow is about to fall and Lenigrad won't be far behind (a mass of forts in front of Stalingrad has dissuaded the Axis from taking it, for now). I just got Ground Warfare 1 for the Russians tho which means double ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

It's going. As usual real-world stuff has taken precedence for the moment, including the usual beatific September weather.

In the latter half of 1941 right now, Barbarossa is a bit behind the historical pace, and this is mainly due to how supply is modeled by the game engine, tl;dr. Good news is ...

Found an overflow error...

No surprise given my huge orders of battle, but I'll outline the figures in question here:

Russians have 127 base builds for unit slot [03] (the 4th one since they start with [00] for HQs), the maximum allowed in the editor. This is amenable to increases from the Army Mobilization tech slot 17, 10 ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

The workaround map size kludge is possible (PM me if you really want to know how), but the devs indicated doing so may break things in the game engine.

At my current pace (no gamebreakers so far), expect the test group to finally be called by Labor Day. I was on a trip for the 1st third of August ...

I PMed him a couple of months ago, but his presence on the forum has been very spotty over the last year or so, thanks to some major health issues. You can try PMing him yourself and see if he is willing to help you out.

Re: Just started and have two questions

Question No.1:

Some units in China start the game entrenched. I have found no entrenchment option in this game like in the WWI version.
How did the units that start the game entrenched become entrenched? How do I entrench other units.

Question No. 2:

What is the significance of the blue and red ...

Re: Unbelievable Move

I'm not as dense as you seem to believe.

I understand that as designed it's a legal move.
My problem is with the "as designed" aspect.

It simply shouldn't be a legal move.

Unfortunately, I found no ability to create a block to land movement or attack in the editor, so this is something only ...

Re: Mod: MEGA Pacific - Most Realistic Yet - v3.0

As the previous modder of this map, I'll address the map concerns.

The main advantage as Nginear indicated is the finer scale works better with the units involved, esp. ships. I was actually toying with taking another 6 months to do a brand-new map with an even finer scale, but I had switched to my ...

Re: Sept39

This is VERY simple: I did NOT give you permission to make this public. You can try to rationalize it to yourself all you want (none of which hold any water), but you have taken the decisions out of my hands and decided on your own to make them for me, which I absolutely cannot abide and which is ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

No, permission for a public release of ANY sort was NOT granted, and in fact I explicity told this person they were NOT allowed to do so. That is all I will say for now.

[For those still following, yes I am still working on it, in the middle of a playtest as we speak.]

Re: USSR Declaring war in 1941

In the second game, after conquering France and taking Egypt/Palestine, the Axis also conquered Spain and took Gibraltar. Germany was NOT massing on the Soviet border.

It feels a little unrealistic for Stalin to declare war so early (surely he would want to have made sure the USA was in first ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

Thanks for the error list rmelvin . I actually THOUGHT I had put in a Hungarian oil well months ago, and was puzzled by your comment. What often happens is that I might revert to an earlier build to fix some other mistake, and forget to put a newer change back in. I am not sure that the production ...

Re: Why are number of shells for A-A units all greyed out?

I've just seen bomber offensives absolutely shredded in other people's AARs as the AA's get their 3 shots turn after turn after turn, when Arty units have to wait to reload. Make them editable and that can indeed be amended on the scenario designer's side (down to 2 per turn no matter what, or 3 ...

Fighters STILL get a strike after expending TWO missions?

Been meaning to ask about this. I would have assumed that 2 missions per turn is 2 missions per turn, no more, no less, but fighters can do 2 total of either Escorts or Interceptions and STILL have 1 (or more!) Strikes of their own left over. Shouldn't the Strikes evaporate as the other mission ...

Re: Crusade in Europe 20km Pre-Release Thread

If the AI is putting them there that is easily dealt with I believe by making Poland non-cooperative with the Western allies. Again tho at this stage the focus isn't going to be on the AI, so don't worry too much about what the AI does or doesn't do, and play both sides instead yourself. Likewise ...
