Realism of mud, blizzard, and supply features in WitE2

<r> Hi. 4.5 years ago, I started the following thread in the WitE forum:<br/> <br/> <LINK link="https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4199044&mpage=1&key=&#65533;"><s>[link=https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4199044&mpage=1&key=&#65533;]</s>https://www.matrixga...

RE: Realism of mud, blizzard and supply features

Hi. I have a simple question. Were the issues raised 4.5 years ago in this thread somehow addressed and improved in the newly released WitE2?

RE: Swedish font

<r> I use English both in game and Windows. The problem is that one cannot install additional languages on Windows 7 Home. But actually I have installed Swedish language using this manual: <URL url="http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-language-pack-in-windows-7-home-premium/"><LINK_TEXT text="...

Swedish font

Hi. Can I ask how to add Swedish (and German for other AGEOD games) font to the game (or Windows)? I have Windows 7 Home, so I cannot install additional language packs. Now I have some letters (umlauts etc.) absent. Thanks.

RE: Advanced Third Reich Mod Feedback

Hi. Can I ask, how to take major fortresses in this mod? In original there were bombers and artillery which reduced entrenchment, but now I cannot do anything at all with Tobruk, Leningrad etc. even when they are surrounded. I'm playing on Veteran level.

RE: Russian troops again, sorry

Hopefully something was going on in France to explain why you didn't get it?
No, only allied strategic bombardments and ships in channel. I must add that it was Barbarossa scenario.

RE: Russian troops again, sorry

Never saw russian surrender after Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad taken. I was forced to take other two "capitals" or reduce their morale to 0 to achieve it.

Do you know how much extra MPP extra you get?
Insignificant. Better to capture eastern and soviet oil fields.

RE: eastern front stalls in 42. How to prepare for overlord?

<t> Concerning D-Day preparation the best condition would be Gibraltar in Axis hands. Americans will not then land in Algeria. So, you must have Spain as an ally. But the invasion<br/> in Portugal can not prevent D-Day, even if Allies will be defeated there. It must be noted that D-Day preparation f...

RE: Russian Surrender ?

To take Kuibyshev and Perm also... Maybe taking all NM objectives can modify this conditions. Or to take London and other victory points before you take Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad (or in place of Kuibyshev and Perm) and make decisive victory without russian surrender.

RE: Balance Issue

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>The Germans never made it close to Leningrad, got stuck at Smolensk and barely got past Kiev. In '42 there was no "Blitzkieg" at all, more a sluggish war of attrition where the German units slowly (against the limits of an AI, I underline) made relevant advances here and the...

RE: The meaning of pockets

<r> After I started three times the Barbarossa scenario I would say that although there is no sense to adapt a pocket strategy pocketing is a sad necessity in this game. Two of my first attempts, to pocket purposefully and not to pocket at all, have led to strategic failure because in both cases the...

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Also, you have to wait until the effects of low supply actually kick in. RE: The meaning of pockets

It seems that if there is town or city in pocket (and in most cases it is so) troops will receive full reinforcements, at least soviet.

The meaning of pockets

I have a simple question: is pocketing make any sense in this game? My experience of Barbarossa scenario gave me a negative answer. For example, one soviet corps received regular reinforcements in Latvia pocket when main front line was near Moscow more than a year.

RE: Realism of mud, blizzard and supply features

So without artificial mechanics the game becomes boring.
I naively thought that if realism and hardcore are different things and if wargames are simulators they must be "boring".
