CTD in Windows 10 after applying patch 1.03

<t> I haven't played this for a while. I have a new PC (win 10, Ryzen 5 2600, 16gb RAM with a Radeon RX580 8gb graphics card) so thought I'd reinstall SoW. Version 1 played ok. I then applied the 1.3 update (downloaded from your site) and the Direct X install from Microsoft. Loading screens are fine ...

RE: Tactical battles

<t> One of the great what-if questions concerns the Earl of Lindsey, who by seniority was the commander of the King's army, who brought it from Shrewsbury to confront Essex at Edgehill and who, after a argument about battlefield tactics, resigned his command, fought with his infantry in the front ...

RE: The Manual

<t> Yes, I am not saying it was not important. I am saying that the campaign in the west country that culminated in the siege of Gloucester (and led directly to the first battle of Newbury) was of much greater significance. It marked the point at which the war turned into a stalemate into which the ...

RE: Tutorial: Where is Brooke

This does show that the game was either rushed or given inadequate preparation. I am sceptical about the claim to be working with The Sealed Knot, they would have picked this one up the moment they looked at the tutorial.

RE: Tactical battles

<t> Because it was written in VBA, the graphical side was virtually non-existent and this is what Aegod do very well. I'm a bit older now and getting one's brains round some of the calculations is not as easy as it was. So I will let this project lie. Writing it was also a way of keeping my coding ...

RE: The Manual

<r> I am delighted you have created an ECW game and admire the work that has gone into it. These comments are meant to be helpful, not just to be critical.<br/>

The Manual

Many spelling mistakes in the manual and on the game map and I have only read the first few pages. Do you want these to be listed here or are you aware of them?

I wish you had continued with your ECW project. You obviously have some understanding of the war. Your post makes some very good points. Welcome to the Matrix forums.

RE: Tactical battles

<t> I am very excited about this project, having tried to design an ECW high level simulation myself (using Microsoft Access / VBA). The frustrating part is the relation between time and distance - if you have a game turn of a week or more then armies can march from one key centre to another (such ...
