Re: Divorce finalized - now it's WITP time! Any good AI scenarios?

Thanks for the replies!
I never really considered using the in-game scenarios and settings to get what I wanted.
I guess sometimes the easy solution actually is the best one :-)

I want to start out against the AI to just reacquaint myself with the old lady and I want to play as the allies against a strong Japan. Yes, as my recent divorce proceedings ...

USSR surrenders too soon! Any way to boost their NM mid-game?

<t> Hi<br/>
<br/>
I am having a blast playing a modded version of the 1944 scenario as Germany.<br/>
I am in the late fall of 1947 and am finally closing in on Stalingrad after years of long, hard slaughter.<br/>
But then the USSR breaks! They've run out of National morale and surrender...<br ...

RE: How to tell if a unit is encircled and "ripe" for destruction?

<t> Aha - some good points here - thank you for that.<br/>
Yes, I read that passage in the manual too - but I wasn't sure exactly what it meant.<br/>
But I understand now that it literally means that any unit destroyed when it has less than 5 supply, cannot be re-bought at half price.<br/>
It ...

How to tell if a unit is encircled and "ripe" for destruction?

<r> I have just started my offensive in Russia.<br/>
I have understood, that to avoid giving the opponent the possibility to buy back destroyed units at half price, you have to encircle them and cut off their supply before you wipe them out.<br/>
I am, however, not quite sure what exactly that ...

RE: Noob question - weekly turns for the stock campaign - issues?

<t> Thanks for the input, guys.<br/>
I wil check out the Turmoil mod - thats for sure.<br/>
And I might play with the idea of creating a "simple" mod of the 1939 campaign, only changed for weekly, alternate turns and with adjusted science, MPP etc.<br/>
I really like the stock 39 campaign, just ...

Noob question - weekly turns for the stock campaign - issues?

<t> Hi<br/>
<br/>
I'm considering editing the stock 1939 campaign to use weekly turns (still alternate, though).<br/>
Do you modding veterans have a simple answer as to the consequences of such a tweak?<br/>
Would it completely mess up the timing and balance of the campaign after a few years ...

RE: Subs in silent mode - when FOW turned off

Hi Hubert

That makes sense - would be cheating the AI if not :-)
I will turn FOW on as soon as I feel comfortable.
Thanks for the reply!

Subs in silent mode - when FOW turned off

Hi

Does anyone know if it makes any difference to put your subs in silent mode if you have FOW turned off?
I am playing with FOW off in my first game to better learn how stuff works.
