Re: Practice Makes Perfect

Congrats Flavius. Now that is a name that sets me back. Remember you playing on the Ivan team at MinnCon in 1991, I was playing the Axis with Joe. Good to see you playing the German side for a change!

Re: An Odd Question Re Solitaire Play

For 54 years I have played almost exclusively solitaire. I had waned since losing space for board set up as my wife thought that clothes, eating and visitors were more important  Then TOAW came to my rescue. Decisive Campaigns, WITE and others followed.
It was my cool down after work, my ...

Re: Is Historical Weather still Random?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hun1U5Uip3k&t=5s

This broadcast interviews both the German and American meteorolgists from the battle. Hitler was looking for five days of low flying clouds and mist, he got seven. Flying sorties doesn't mean they were able to be effective. It doesn't help if you ...

Re: Is Historical Weather still Random?

Thanks for posting this. I was already trying with "bad weather" but this seems to reduce visibilty quite a bit. I will let you know if it is worth the trade off of no Allied Air for seven days. Just finishing turn three.

Re: Is Historical Weather still Random?

How about a fix for Wacht Am Rhein? Historical weather was mist from Dec 16-20, Heavy Snow Dec 21-22, Clear Dec 23 on.
It is frustrating trying to get started on a new game and have to deal with allied air power that I should not have to deal with for the first week. I am rusty enough thanks.

Re: SeaBee Alpha - WitP:AE Install & Configuration Application

My thanks to all for fixing the install problems with SeaBee. I did get it to install but I now have a new laptop so it needs configuring and have forgotten how to do that, sorry. Any assistance would be appreciate. As of now it does not find the executable and the screen is a mess.

New Sudden Death game

After not playing for quite awhile and being sorely disappointed with WITE2, thought I would give this ago again. Settings were as recommended without FOW. I have yet to try that. Think I have only played with straight through about five or six times now, Well I managed Sudden Death earlier that I ...

So no Seabea for now then? That is a bummer. I had a hard drive crash and bought a new computer.

RE: TF did not refuel - Bug or feature

Which is why it is a good idea to preposition a few AOs across the Pacific for refueling at smaller bases. Fuel from the west coast is one thing you are not in short supply. Going full speed really burns fuel and causes major damage to ships. I rarely do it.

RE: Guadalcanal Scenario a few questions

That would explain the issue with the forts. Supply is tight in this scenario so not likely to get to level 7.

Another question, how do you attack ships in a port by air? I am at a loss.

Guadalcanal Scenario a few questions

<t> I am running into a few strange for me at least issues with base building. Fortification in red and air bases with an * that are extremely slow to build. I am obviously missing something, but did not see anything in a perusal of the rulebook.<br/>

RE: crowd funded update?

<t> I doubt you would even get people to agree on the basis for the update. I for one was less than impressed with WITE2. The air war is over complicated and oversimplified both at the same time. I still don't get what is wrong with air units? I didn't like WITW due to its air system but at least ...

RE: TF Threat Tolerance Settings

<t> So if I want to send a TF through an area to clear or patrol it say a cruiser TF I would want the threat tolerance high, but if I want to send a troop transport I probably want it as low as I can get, right?<br/>
