ORIGINAL: cfulbright

I was pleasantly surprised to see I had a Github account already - cfulbright. Please invite me as a collaborator.

Done, lets see if it worked.

RE: WitW Missing Aircraft Carriers!

<t> The Hellcat F.I is an F6F-3; so not the F6F-5 types in use by the US at the invasion of Southern France - still a good start for a mod. RAF no. 800 squadron seems to have been using the Hellcat F.I. Having escort carriers protect the amphibs is an abstraction - but in the invasion of Southern Fr...

RE: WitW Missing Aircraft Carriers!

Seminole,

Thanks, I had missed that part of the manual. I still don't think it is enough, though. The Hellcats were making strikes inland against rail - so they are still partly missing from the game.

RE: Normandy - German Air Superiority - What's Wrong?

<t> Cary - <br/> <br/> I went ahead and started playing the 43-45 campaign. As you note, the Allied player can cripple the LW and my May '44 Normandy invasion has met little air or sea interdiction response. The issue is the May and June '44 start scenarios, but given a year to crush the AI LW in th...

WitW Missing Aircraft Carriers!

<r> It is a shame that the aircraft carriers that supported Dragoon – the invasion of the South of France - are not represented in the game. 9 escort carriers participated in the operation. They mounted 72 Hellcats plus some 40 Wildcats with the remainder of the aircraft Seafires. Thus some ~180-200...

RE: Axis manual rail repair?

<t> Possibly only by using the editor. Allied manual rail repair units are just headquarters of a special type. They hold 4 engineering regiments to do their work. The British ones actually hold dedicated rail repair units, the US ones just hold General Service Engrs. Unlike other HQs the assignment...

RE: Are you able to split up air groups?

<t> Actually - there is a way to split air groups into squadrons - it has to be done in the game editor. Unless you code it would be quite painful to do, but you could manually modify via the csv files.<br/> <br/> I wrote a Python script that takes the air group csv from the editor and processes it ...

RE: Normandy Invasion Messed Up?

<r> Success perhaps - added some extra RAF Bomber Command Lancasters to their existing NP AD and this suppressed German Naval interdiction values to 0-2 rather than 2-4. The Amphibs still lose too many points but now I have command of the sea to a meaningful extent.<br/> <br/> It seems counter-intui...

<r> Here is another AI cheat for you (D-Day, May Start). Naval Interdiction points in the Seine Bay. I destroyed the Axis ports - 100% - so they do not contribute to interdiction.
